“Fun for the family”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

It was great to finally get out of the car (drove to PEI from Ontario) and our two year old daughter absolutely loved Avonlea Village! From the farm animals to the children's sing-along, we all had fun and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend this to all whether you know the story of Anne of Green Gables or not. We will be back!

“Like Going Back In Time”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Avolea Village was a great experience. My daughters loved it, there is so many things going on there. We spend the whole day there and would have gone back if we had more time on our trip.

“Go back in time with Anne of Green Gables”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

The Village did a great job having characters from Green Gables perform short skits and interact with visitors. Be ready if a character is rude or obnoxious -they are just following the character in the book. It appears they aren't allowed to break character. We asked one to put instructions to make lace on YouTube and they acted as if they never heard of it...of course staying in character. They had music and areas to dress-up, sand castle building with the help of an expert and we learned to walk on a form of stilts from the era. The kids loved it plus they had interesting varieties of grilled cheese sandwiches from Cow's Brand Dairy that were tasty and relatively inexpensive as well as Cow's ice cream. The village was well maintained and the weather was perfect.

“Great family attraction”
Reviewed August 14, 2013 via mobile

Took my niece there and she didn't want to leave. The little town is all real houses and buildings that you can go into and there's a real farm too. The characters were convincing and entertaining. My niece literally walked and talked with Anne and Diana all day. Performances were cute and there was enough open time to roam around and we even left went swimming at our hotel and went back. Great for a family with little girls and stays true to the story.

“Not worth the money”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

This was on our to do list in PEI, it cost almost $80 for a family of 4. It was a neat little village like the one from the books and movies. the characters were interactive and we brought a picnic lunch which we enjoyed while watching a short play. we went on a hay ride, the kids did dress up in old time clothes. It enjoyed the experience but did not feel it was worth the $80. Had they charged even half of that I may have enjoyed it more.
