Arrived not long before closing time. Waited too long to get seated, but after, we were waited on promptly. Despite Leslie being very busy she still had a smile on her face and was very pleasant and helpful. We had chicken strips, baked Brie and Greek salad, it was delicious. Would definitely go back again.

We arrived at the restaurant and were ignored for over ten minutes to be seated, other groups after us waited for considerably longer than that and some walked out. The 2 chefs and 2 waiting staff were clearly under staffed and over whelmed with the late season custom.
The food was awesome with thumbs up from all 4 of us in the group, but we would not return again in a hurry because of the lack of service.

A travel companion and I stopped in at Rachel's a couple of nights' ago for dinner. There are few restaurants open in the area as it is after the middle of September and the big tourist season is over. Rachel's was still relatively busy and evidently the manager or owner had not planned for it. There was one waitress and one hostess/helper on duty and they were both running themselves ragged. There was only one clean and set up table available when we arrived as no one had been able to bus the others. We were greeted and seated. The waitress, Candice, although obviusly overworked, was pleasant and cheerful. The hostess was running back and forth greeting newcomers, delivering beverages, handling take-out orders, etc. Both women maintained a cheerful disposition. As we watched, we wondered where the manager or owner was. Shouldn't he or she have been available doing what needed to be done to help these two hard workers? It should never be above a manager to even bus tables if that's what's necessary.
We were not in a hurry, thankfully, and patience paid off. The food was delivered and was a very decent meal. I hope these women are rewarded for their hard work and positive attitudes.

Booked to stay locally for 2 days and decided to try Rachel's . Last orders are 8.30, so we arrived before 8 and were greeted by a tall, scruffy man wearing a base ball cap & trainers. Decor here is dull but clean & scruffy man confirmed that our server Charley would be looking after us.

Well, poor Charley, who is getting on in age, was struggling to cope with the 5/6 tables and we waited for over 20 minutes to order a drink & a further 25 to order the food.

Meanwhile, scruffy tall man didn't offer any help at all to Charley which was disgraceful. When the food arrived it was of reasonable quality but the poor service ( not Charley's fault ) meant that we didn't go back, even for breakfast.

I think the tall scruffy man was the Manager, the owner needs to find a we manager & offer help to Charley!

We shared a great plate of mussels, a local specialty. I had the lobster roll with fresh coleslaw and potatoe salad - wonderful! Dessert was bread pudding, a house specialty and truly a fabulous end to a wonderful meal. Lunch could not have been more enjoyable!!!
