The food quality was to notch, and we [two big guys] could barely finish our portions. Great use of local catch and seasonal fruits and veggies! Definitely worth a short 1/2 mile] diversion off the Transcanada highway when you get to Rossport.

The Inn is small, but the food is fantastic! If you are looking for a special meal or just enjoy great food, this is the place to stop. Two people could eat for $60. The setting is across the road from Lake Superior and we were waited on by the owner who has been in business for 24 or more years and a resident for 40! The Mediterranean Chicken meal could easily have fed 2 if we had ordered 2 chicken breasts. There is fresh bread served while you decide what to order and the establishment is licensed.

We should have thought again about our choice when the B&B we were staying at said we might think about going elsewhere, but we had driven a long day and did not really want to go far for dinner. There are 8 tables in the restaurant and the view is fantastic. The waitress/owner was very frazzled. We ordered a bottle of wine and were told wine was only served in carafes, ok so we order a carafe. WE place our orders, two prime rib specials, pasta boulonnaise with shrimp and soup entree. After abount an hour we finally see our salads. Oh by the way other tables are getiing bottles of wine, not carafes??? Other tables are seated when we finally got our salads. After 45 minutes more we ask how is our meal coming and was told "they are working on it". The three tables that came in after us received their dinners and then ours came out . The pasta dish had three shrimp the size of a quarter and were very overcooked, the sauce had no flavor, The prime ribs and vegetables were cold. I asked for parmesan to add to the pasta and was given a teaspoonful. The other tables are now trying to get their bills to leave and are having trouble getting them. We finish our meal just to get out as we have been there for over two hours now. We ask for our bill and wait and wait and wait. We finally decide to go to the cash desk and ask for our bill. She gave us our bill and it wasn't divided between the two couples as we had asked for at he beginnig of our dining experience. She then told us we would have to wait another 5 to 10 minutes for her to get it to us as she had other things she needed to do?? At his point I told her no, do it now as we had been there quite some time now and three other tables had come and gone and hour aftrer we had been seated. She made a derogatory remark and made out the bill. To top it off she tried to charge us $20 more on our bills.

This little cafe is off the Trans Canada highway in Rossport, Ontario. We stopped here based on the recommendation of a friend.

The menu is small, but varied, with excellent choices. The portions are large and the food delicious.

The view of the bay is a nice feature.

People sitting next to us ordered dessert. The desserts were huge, enough to split between two easily.
