“The Service was Exceptional!”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

My husband and I and our 8 month old baby had a lovely time at the Shamrock Lodge. Tim (owner) and staff were so hospitable! We had a very refreshing getaway in our Pinewood room with a reachable view of Lake Rosseau. We enjoyed our evenings on our private patio with the peaceful sounds of the lake and nature around us. Our room was clean. The food was excellent. The service was exceptional. A great place for a family to get away. Lots to do for kids and a welcoming atmosphere for families. We will be back for sure! Thank you Tim & Linda for creating such a beautiful experience at an affordable price tag!

Room Tip: Great view of Lake Rosseau from our private above ground balcony at the Pinewood!

My husband and I stayed at Shamrock Lodge in Port Carling, for the Canadian long weekend in May. Not only was the weather smiling on us, but the resort staff welcomed us as if we were family! Check in was quick and easy, we were shown to a comfortable room overlooking well maintained grounds and beautiful Lake Rosseau. I am looking to bring a senior's group the end of September, just in time to see the gorgeous leaves and Bala Cranberry Festival and if at all possible, I will make this happen! They have to experience this place!

The room was spacious, very clean, fresh smelling and opened to a balcony overlooking the lake. Beds were super comfortable, bathroom well laid out with an extra sink in a separate alcove next to it, making getting ready for the sumptuous breakfast, a breeze. I did inspect the rest of the property as well and they can provide almost any combination of beds and bedrooms. Their lounges in the main lodge were inviting and have fireplaces/wood stoves to give you that cozy down home feeling. I was duly empressed!

Breakfast and dinner were included with the accommodations. There were 2 choices for the main course both delicious and well presented and made from local fresh ingredients, served in a dining room overlooking the lake. They also served, well thought out appetizer salads and homemade soup teamed with freshly baked dinner rolls. Yummy desserts rounded out the day. Boy they, they were good, blueberry crepes with ice cream were my favorite! They are fully licensed and can provide many tasty alcoholic drinks, wines and beers-just ask Tim and he will look after you. They were able to cater to our dietary needs, but a heads up before you come would be appreciated by the chef, we did not think to do that however! But they stepped right up to the plate and offered alternatives...

The evening saw us at a campfire roasting gigantic marshmallows provided by the Lodge, trading interesting stories and laughter with other guests while listening to the loons on the lake, the bull frogs in the marsh and watching for shooting stars in a smog free sky.

There was lots to see and do if you were so inclined, but if not comfy chairs were provided to enjoy the fresh air, the exquisite scenery, catch up on those missing zzzz's or simply to read a good book. Kayaks, canoes, tennis court, shuffleboard court, basket ball etc and various other sporting items were available for the asking plus a playground for the kiddies. the the kids that were there, seemed to have a blast, especially the guided boat ride offered by Tim to all the guests. The water was still a little too cold to frolic on the beach but their indoor pool was well maintained, of a decent size, and the hot tub a joy to experience! People were raving about both of these facilities.

If you cannot live without your electronic devices, free wi-fi is provided and hook up is a cinch even for the electronically challenged (like me! who has to have email contact with her clients). If you need to stay in touch you can always utilize their computer so no need to bring yours. Our experience was wonderful, restful and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great get-a-way or a week long family vacation...they truly know how to treat people right!

Room Tip: view of the lake is wonderful! All the rooms are well laid out...with families in mind!

I would like to thank Tim and the Shamrock lodge staff for making our stay a wonderful memorable experience . My 6 year old son liked the food and the natural beauty, the staff was always happy to answer his questions . The staff took special care for my wife's food as she is a vegetarian and she loved the way the staff always asked how she would like to have her meals. Tim was very informative during the boat ride and I would like to appreciate his service as he took the service above my expectations by providing a microwave in my room for my 10 month old son's meals. We would like to return as soon as possible to explore this paradise in Ontario.

We are thrilled to know you had such a memorable experience and we truly enjoyed meeting your family. The beauty of Muskoka helps us to embrace new friends and we would be happy to have you come back for a summer vacation. Our Fun Klub for Kids will be available to both of your children and the many activities we offer in the summer will be available every day like water-skiing or tubing, more scenic boat rides and use of the canoes, kayaks and paddleboats. Thank you again on behalf of the Bryant family and staff.

Thanks Tim for the great hospitality, nothing compares to having a board meeting on the lake in Muskoka. We arrived to hot coffee and a room set-up that was exactly what we ordered, plus staff on hand to make any changes or help setting up if needed. Lunch was great, service was excellent and the follow-up was much appreciated.

I just reserved our 2nd and most likely annual stay at Shamrock Lodge for this coming summer. My boyfriend, step-daughter and I lucked out last year and got into the lodge last minute because of a cancellation. Over the last year, and especially now with the warmer weather my step-daughter (5 yrs) often asks when we’re going back. She had so much fun last year with supervised kid’s activities all day long (including boating, water skiing, tubing…) and met so many new friends (fingers crossed they’re back this year!) that we knew we had to return. However, Shamrock Lodge is not only for kids… my boyfriend and I also had a great time, met wonderful new people, and actually managed to rest/relax as this is an all-inclusive resort (and did I mention the all-day kid’s program?) This year we’re also hoping to do some golfing as there is a golf course right beside the lodge; however, I’m not sure if it’s private/public. As of today we are officially counting down the days to our next stay at Shamrock Lodge!

We had a lovely weekend at Shamrock. A big thank you to Lynda and Tim for the warm welcoming and attention to detail all along the time we spent at their place. We really bonded as a family and it was in part thanks to their dedication. The place is very nice, rooms were clean, warm and comfortable. Food was delicious! Thank you, chef. We definitely recommend this place as a winter getaway. Once again, thank you.

Room Tip: If you are on the lower floor, you can hear the steps upstairs from you.

We are glad to hear you all bonded here as a family. This is what we are all about. Shamrock is a perfect place for family reunions, weddings and even corporate events. Being small and cozy gives each guest a feel of being at home. We also appreciate the comment on the stairs going up to the upper floor, we have coverd them with a thicker indoor outdoor carpet which has made them alot quieter for those staying near them. Thanks again for the nice comments you made. Hopefully more family's who need to connect more will come thanks to you.... Sincerly, Tim Bryant

The staff at Shamrock Lodge are committed to making their customers happy. They are friendly and accommodating. I was especially impressed by the fresh fruit and warm muffins set at our table prior to our arrival for breakfast. They even gave us a discount because they felt that their amenities were not up to their standards??? My gf's and I had a great girls getaway!

This is what we need to hear, it is the little things that make a BIG difference. The staff are a huge part of our Lodge and without them we wouldn't have all these nice reviews our guests are sending to Trip Advisor. I was away when you and your group of Ladies came, and it was very nice to hear our staff did an Excellent job.... And as far as the meals goes here, we try very hard to ensure everyone enjoys their dinning experience. IAnd here at Shamrock Lodge the personal touch is a big part of our program. Say thanks to all the ladies and i hope to meet you all the next time you viisit... Sincerely, Tim Bryant......PS- The discount was given because i felt our X-country trails and ice rink was not up to the standards they usually are. Due to the snow storms back to back the days before your group arrived..
