We visited the theatre several times and found the food to be mediocre at best, ok but not to inviting or tasteful , the theatre itself could do with a cleanup and the performers were tip top new seats in the theatre would be greatly appreciated

The 3 times i was at the Herongate Theatre, I wasn't impressed (invited all 3 times). The food was mediocre. The staff are cheerful enough, but the quality just isn't there. And the sing-alongs at dinner ... unless you're in your 60's or older, and have a central European background (Austrian, German, Belgium), I would not head out to this place.

We have found the atmosphere at Heron Gate to be pleasant and inviting. The food, however, is mediocre, much like grandmother's home cooking, ok but nothing to write home about. The theatrical productions, however, are professionally done, with great performances.

Visited the Herongate Barn theatre several times with my lovely lady and good friends. The location and the Barn gives you the feeling of a "Country side" It is a beautiful family Business.
It is done "Professionally" they are friendly, accommodating, relaxed. To top it all, is their "Menu of good food"
I am a Vegetarian, but I do eat Fish, and they always provide, for someone like me a
"Semi-vegetarian."
Well all the "Plays" may not always be enjoyable - but it is worth a good break, the environment.

I was treated to a Sunday matinee and was looking forward to an enjoyable afternoon. While the staff were friendly and polite, several things missed the mark. First, we were seated at the worst table in the place. A table for two under the fire extinguisher. The dining room was quite full but there were a couple of better empty tables. Ours was right in the path of people trying to get to their own seats or to the salad bar.

The salad plates were too small to hold a decent serving. The selection of salad ingredients was fair. Hang on to your forks and knives. The servers will whisk away your plate as soon as you take your last bite and if your utensils are on the plate, you will lose them. The lineup for the main courses was ridiculous. We stood in line for almost a half hour. Most of the other guests were elderly and some looked uncomfortable having to stand for so long. Unlike other buffets, you do not help yourself. There are people who load up your plate for you. If you want extra of something, you have to ask. By the time you get back to your table and have your meal, you are no longer in the mood to have seconds. Nor, do you have much time. I have no complaints about the quality of the food. It was just such an ordeal to get it. We followed other people's example and grabbed our dessert at the same time.

There was a short pre-show with a fellow playing banjo and telling jokes. We found him amusing but found it difficult to hear as the people around us were conversing loudly. The main show is upstairs. Another ordeal for the disabled or elderly. The view from all seats is good but the seats themselves are cramped. Not a lot of leg room.

The play that we saw was underwhelming. The main actor clearly didn't know all of his lines and flubbed several times. The casting was questionable as well. We've seen much better community theatre.

We used a coupon from their website to save $3 on each admission. It still came to about $113 for two of us. Lunch started at noon and the show was over by about 4:30.
