We enjoyed ourselves in Upper Canad Village. First we made a trip with the train next to the village, we took the long track (30 minutes) but the short track (15 minutes) would have been better because the long track showed the same things as the short track.

The wool factory, the cheesefactory, the farm and the sawingmill were still producing and the staff was pleasant.

I have visited here several times in the past 50 years. Spend a day living in the time around Canadian Confederation of 1867. The bakery makes great bread, but get here before lunchtime as they sometimes sell out. Lots to see and do. Plan on spending a full day here.

This was the least anticipated of our 6 attractions around Kingston, but turned out to be a sleeper.
The recreations, the superbly acted and trained staff, the sense of time, history and setting...fantastic. Even took our 8 and 10 yr old nephews who'd been there bf and they loved it even more the second time.
Try the cheese and bread...heck see as much as you can, talk to the staff....great day.

Great experience. So well done. Don't forget to buy the bread at the village store! Loved the buildings. Also make sure you do the boat ride and stage ride!
