Went to Upper Canada village night of 15 December, took 2 Granchildren. A great experience albeit, extremely cold. Took in the open horse drawn sleigh ride which is a big hit with kids (including grand parents) a step back in time to say the least. We were able to take part in the sing along of Christmas carols at the church. The lights are truly amazing! The buildings are well decorated portraying a beautiful festive theme. The hilite of our visit was the minature train ride, a fitting end to an enjoyable evening.
Strongly suggest anyone advocating visiting this attraction pre-purchase your tickets on line so as to avoid a rather long & cold wait, an added bonus is, tickets are cheaper on line.
One negative item is the gift shop & lack of sales help, be prepared for a long line-up at the cash.
All in all, a worthwhile attraction for all ages.
Looking forward to next years alight at night an annual tradition with us from now on. As well we plan to visit the village in the summer where there is a great variety of things to see & do.

Fort Henry In Kingston had a buy-one-get-one-free deal, an added value for visiting Ontario. I wish that more costumed presenters were there, but on Labour Day, many are away back to college. Those that were there portrayedtheir roles well.

This is a great learning experience for children, I love the lights and horse draw ride in winter and the pumpkin inferno was awesome this year, Always a great experience. You should purchase your tickets online to avoid line ups :)

Drove from Kingston to have a day out at Upper Canada Village and was totally taken back in time. The village is great and when we were there it wasn't very crowded so we got a good look at everything. People were friendly and we loved seeing the school children put on a play, all in their old fashioned costumes.
What a great place to take a family...highly recommend it to everyone with an interest in Canadian history.

The purpose of our trip was the Pumkin Inferno. We arrived at 6:30 when it opened and the line was long but the staff did a great job and it moved. The crowds were very large and my only complaint would be all of the wagons with smaller children. The time of day and the theme would not entice me to bring my smaller children, if i had them. :-)
The pumpkins look great and I was surprised that they are plastic. I suppose this shouldn't have been a shock. I was good and truly shocked to see the price on the plastic pumpkin as i left. A large one will set you back $150.Displays were very amazing and i really liked the displays around the church. You will find all sorts of animals, faces, plants (look for the garden, as there are rows of plantings)
The tour is done at your own pace but with the crowds it took us 90 minutes.
