“Looks good on "outside"”

The hotel looks good on outside, but service sucks. Couldn't get in room without attended. Try to get a coffee, but was unable to because there was none available... regular or decaffeinated. The whole place is not worth going to. My house is almost bigger then the casino its self, except bar. Don't waste your time or money!!!!!

DO NOT STAY AT 4 BEARS CASINO! The dry wall is cut up all the way down the hallway with cob webs. There was a flood 2 years ago and they never fixed it. Instead, they built a new addition. The place looks run down and terrible. The phones don't work in the new rooms. People yanked on the cords and broke them. We tried two rooms to make a phone call and both phones don't work. You'd be lucky to get a remote for the tv. We had none and the staff said it was common for people to steal them. The staff in the front don't move from their fold-out table and fold-out chairs. They eat pizza from 9:00 AM until night and send a staff member with a broken foot to check the phones. It took this man 2 hours to get to the room and he couldn't fixe the phone. There is no ice machines in all the hotel. They got rid of them and did not get replacements yet. The staff do not care about their hotel guests at all. The place really should be shut down.

Room Tip: Check your phone fist thing...and make sure you have a remote.

I was overwhelmed by 4 bears casino & lodge, in more ways than one. My boyfriend and I arrived at the hotel parking lot only to see that it was very unkept and resembles a hospital. The front desk clerk seemed anoyed that I disturbed her and that she had to get up and walk to the copy machine for my paperwork. I got my keys and headed for the room. Wow! It was beautiful and very large. It consisted of a livingroom, kitchenette, seperate bedroom, full bathroom with two sinks and a spa . Rustic decor throughout with a touch of elegance. The spa nice if you wanted to just taks a soak. We get in the spa only to find that the jets were disfuncional. As for the casino: most of the machines didn't work and the ones that did, didn't do anything but drain our wallet.

The reviews are true. First hint is the trash and general unkept exterior appearance. Next was the incorrect reservation for more nights that I had booked to which the unprofessional front desk person replied just fill out the form anyway. I refused until a correct reservation form was produced. Then I was handed my room key cards attached to a sticky note. How tacky. No welcome greetings, hotel information, offer to be of further assistance or any other type of acknowledgement by hotel staff. First impression of room was an overpowering odor of deodorizer masking something similar to poor hygiene by previous occupants. The room seemed to have been the scene of past unruly visitors from the damaged walls and furniture. The decore was cheap. Veneer was worn off trim and furniture. Enamel was worn off the sink, toilet and tub. Shelving screws and control knobs were missing. I could go on. The restaurant was only open Wed. or Thurs. thru Sun. depending on who you want to believe. In town dining selections are slim to none. No need to dress up for anything here. This area is experiencing an economic boom and there is a tremendous influx of transients and traffic. Not a recommended destination point for now. Rhonda Packineau is the event/sales mgr. and if it wasn't for her there wouldn't be any customer service and public relations for this hotel/casino. This was in my top 2 worst stays. Unfortunately it's the only game within 70 miles and I was here on business. I'll consider driving the 70 miles next time.

I was a bit surprised by this hotel. The good things: it was extremely quite, even with the casino on site, our room was larger than we thought, some of the staff were extremely friendly (others were very rude) it was a pretty clean hotel (inside) but could use some minor repairs in the rooms...the flooring in our tiny bathroom was peeling, our window handle kept falling off, you had to slam the bathroom door shut, the dresser was missing some handles and another was falling off.
There was an ironing board in our room and tons of storage. We stayed 4 nights and had lots of room for our stuff the bed were also comfortable but you have to ask for more pillows and they will bring you some nice fluffy ones, we also had plenty of towels stocked
The not so good things: some of the staff were rude and lazy, the pool is pretty cold and there were never enough towels, the blankets are extremely thin so we had to ask for more, there is no cover on the toilet so we had to retrieve a few things especially since our son is one.
We ate at the restaraunt a few times...the first time the staffs language had a lot of swearing in it an they weren't too friendly...there was one man who worked there who was super friendly...the guy who ran the grill was nice and the manager was very friendly. We thought the restaraunt was a bit pricy 19.95 a person for dinner buffet the food was so/so. The grill next to it wasnt too bad, just all fried food. The grounds of the hotel were very dirty, lots of trash around. We went fishing and down to the marina and the woman working there was very friendly, but get your license prior...they only sell them online.

My husband and i recently got married, and not being the richest folks, we decided to take a small tour of North Dakota. We stopped at the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge to try our luck and stay for two nights. We were lucky in love and absolutey nothing else. We checked into the hotel and there was a surely looking man behind the counter that smelled like cheap body spray. Man might be too strong of a word, boy with a bad attitude and greasey hair might be more acurate. He looked like the type of perv that we warn our young girls about, and didnt behave much better. After we checked into our smelly, badly furnished room, we decided to eat. The buffet was over priced and the food was so bad we spent the rest of the night in our bathroom. We tried gambling, and when we had a problem with the machines, that was the only time anyone was helpful. A young asian man with glasses assisted us. We repeadtedly called the front desk to ask for towels and an extra pillow (there was only one) but the man behind the counter rudely ignored us. Finally my husband approached him face to face to ask for assistance, and he ignored him and walked off to read his torn up pornographic book. There was no manager and no one who was willing to rectify our complaints. We left the hotel and we will not be going back. And as for the boy behind the counter, someone teach him that just because you wear a cheap suit does not mean you should not wash your hair!

Room Tip: Bring and use your own bedding.

Ok, first off I didn't see the reviews till I was about an hour away. When I read them I figured I was in for a night of hell. When I got into my room I was pleasantly surprised. The room was actually nice. Clean, and had definitely been updated since those 2 pictures were posted. I was very relieved. Drink prices were cheap, snack bar burgers were good. Now for the not-so-good....
-Casino was lacking to say the least. Only about a third of the machines would take my money. (Still managed to lose a couple hundo though.) The rest of the bill readers didn't work. It wasnt dirty like the other reviews said, it was just small and outdated.
-The staff sucked. Just very rude. Enough said.
-the breakfast buffet wasn't any good. Food was ice cold. All the booths were duct-taped.
-hotel room door wouldn't latch. Maintenance didn't care (deadbolt still worked)
-elevator smelled like urine. (Badly)
I don't want to rip on the place too bad. Like I said, I read the previous reviews and was downright petrified as to what I was getting myself into, so I was relieved in that sense. The bottom line is that they had rooms available when no one else did and the rooms themselves were nice. I guess if I had to I'd stay there again. It was 95 $ for the night.
