We stayed at Elm Hurst for the first time last week (February 7-8), because of a funeral. As a result, we didn't get to experience the many amenities, but were most impressed by the ambience of the Inn and the uncluttered spaciousness of the rooms. From check-in to check-out, the staff were friendly and attentive, including the dining room and breakfast room. We were throughly delighted and would have no histation about returning!

Room Tip: Rooms facing onto the fields and woods have an especially good view.

We thoroughly enjoyed the newly renovated rooms complete with fridge and coffee maker. This inn is an excellent place to relax and enjoy a get away. The food is excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly. We had a delicious dinner and a buffet breakfast included in our package. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: We like the main floor - no stairs to go up or down.

Went for a night with my wife in November! Was a nice cozy place to get away from Toronto! Grounds are well kept and beautiful location over all. Was warm in November last year so was faced with an annoying farm stench! Aside from this, the gardens were pretty with a wonderful path in the back to take a nice evening stroll. Rooms were all right - the regular hotel look, nothing fancy! Same goes for the bathroom. My wife got herself a manicure from the aveda spa which she said was very good. Our highlight was the dinner, though on the pricey side was an excellent affair! Recommend the skewered lamb shish kebab and skillet roast. Overall a nice place to go away to wind down with your significant other! Seems to be a popular choice for office xmas parties or weddings!

Good venue, excellent food, sleezy practice of clearing tables of unfinished drinks and bottles of wine so guests would have to buy more. Sparkling wine not poured for toasts, as requested at time of booking, until staff prompted to do so. Tables cleared of gifts for guests so many went home without.
This was the second wedding for us in about one year but another local venue had comparable price, food, and wedding facility but service was far superior. We could have 2 more weddings in the future and we would not go back to the Elmhurst.

Dear D_David83,
We appreciate the compliments on our venue and food. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention, but they were addressed personally last year with the mother of the bride and resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

We had a wonderful stay at Elmhurst. Our room, the Lord Connaught was even more beautiful than we had anticipated. We had dinner on Saturday night that was superb. The next morning, my husband had a massage that he thought was amazing. Everyone in the spa was so pleasant. We also had my husband's 60th birthday party during your Sunday brunch with 19 people. Erin, your special events planner was very helpful with the arrangements and everything was as requested. People loved the food and the service was exceptional. Thank you so much!

We will definitely return and want to let others know of our pleasant stay.

We needed accommodation for my family to get together December 27 & 28 and Elm Hurst was the right choice. We had a fabulous time during our stay and it was exactly what we needed. The staff were all friendly, accommodating and helpful. The food was terrific and booking one of the private dining rooms for our last dinner was perfect. The rooms were lovely and of course the views were a bonus. I booked a suite so we would all have somewhere to gather and there was plenty of space. I can see this becoming a tradition.

I stayed from a Friday to a Saturday the first weekend after the new year, 2013. It was extremely quiet since most people wouldn't really go away right after the holidays. Although right off the 401, it really isn't near anything and the Inn itself doesn't have anything on site for treats, other than the restaurant. Plan to be secluded.
It's definitely a historical place. They had actual keys for the room (not electronic cards)!
I did a Spa package with my friend and we were able to set up the package and the restaurant reservation with the Spa Director via email, prior to arrival.
Upon arriving, the staff was extremely nice and I was a little peckish and a waitress from the restaurant offered to look for some muffins from breakfast to satiate me. She served us tea and said muffin (very tasty and fresh even though it was from breakfast) in the front sitting area.
We had an early dinner which was fantastic and a huge portion. We opted for the Chef's menu (a prix fixe) and it was worth it. Needed to take a walk in the snow afterwards. (There are no real lit paths that we knew of, or could see, so not recommended in the dark).
After dinner we went to the spa. They have a hot tub, sauna and steam room. If you have spare time, you could use one or all of these.
Our treatments were extremely relaxing and the staff was really nice. (Carribbean Body Therapy and Express Pedicure)

All in all, as a first getaway of this type for me, it was great.

Room Tip: Heater made some noise but I didn't really notice while I was asleep. Fridge and Robes in the r...
