Hall's Housekeeping Cottages
Reviewed August 12, 2013

We have stayed at Hall's Cottages twice a summer for the last thirteen years. The view of the bay is amazing, especially the sunsets!! We book early because the front row of cottages usually go first. We have never been disappointed with the exception of a possible rainy day which altered our plans for boating but then we would always find something else to do. One thing that always surprises me is that it is so quiet after dark - it's like camp...lights out! Fair price for the accommodations. Owners are friendly and very accommodating.

Room Tip: If it is within your budget the three bedroom cottages are great because they are larger overall...

If you are looking for a nice view from your cottage, this is not the place. Most are in the back by the machinery and parking lot area. Lots of vehicles everywhere. Trailer sites behind cottages with lots of rowdy drinkers up until all hours of the night. Certainly did not respect the 11 pm quiet time. Then there was a problem with something in our cottage and the owner told us to try and fix it ourselves. Only 1 peddle boat worked. The other was missing peddles. The cottages are suppose to be well equipped, but sre very limited. No egg flipper fir the eggs or pancales. Only mugs, no glasses. Only cereal bowls, nothing to make a salad in. No strainer for spaghetti. No milk jug, and items like that. The last placed we stayed in Bobcaygeon had everything you can think of including all your linens and towels, on the Trent for less money.On the bright side it was clean, and had air conditioning.

In response to the “not so great” review;
We try really hard to shut this place down at 11:00 PM however on a long weekend occasionally people get a little carried away and I shut them down at 12:30 AM. As far as the paddle boat is concerned we give them for free and they keep getting broken, we do our best to maintain them, our apologies. We get a lot of groups coming here and they mix the dishes and cutlery etc. up with other cottages. Our customers in most cases ask for items that they need and are missing from the cottage.
The earlier you book the better selection you would have. Several of our cottages have an excellent view of the water and sunsets; unfortunately the one in question was booked last. The reason the cottage was more money was because of the long weekend. Our weekly rates are very reasonable.
