“Huff Estates staff will do Sun Dance to make your trip to Prince Edward County even more enjoyable!”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

If you are looking for a great place to stay and tour the PEC wine country, Huff Estates is a great place to stay. This was our second stay and it was as wonderful as the first. We have only stayed in the standard rooms which are a great size, have 2 club chairs, a flat screen TV, desk, small fridge, patio with a table & chairs, & a shower, no bath tub. (YES I know 2 &'s in a sentence is improper grammar) It would be nice if a few of the rooms had a king or queen size bed instead of the 2 doubles. The staff go out of their way to be helpful & everyone one is really nice. A trait you will find replicated throughout the county. Breakfast is included and you have to try the chocolate waffles! I am a waffle traditionalist and the only choices that should be allowed are bacon or sausages with your maple syrup. Fruit, whip cream &/or or icing sugar are great as a desert, but not for breakfast. I was talked into the chocolate waffle by the hostess and she was right. I tactfully ignored the whip cream in the ice bucket & got the sausages.
On the grounds are the Winery and the Oeno Art Gallery, both are must visits whether you stay here or not. Huff wines are great, and you must try the sparking Rose. PEC is more than just PINOT!
We arrived on Wed., May 22 which was a muggy day which was supposed to have some rain in it. Overnight we had what could only be described as a monsoon. The rain was so hard it woke us up a few times. Thursday was not looking good & I mentioned it to our hostess and the housekeeper. They offered to do a Sun Dance to keep the rain away. While it did "sprinkle" a couple of times while we were driving between wineries, not one drop fell while we were out walking. I know not where they get their power over the rain, but keep it up!
If you are on a wine tasting trip to the country, this location is centrally located. With over 30 wineries in the region, I would select at least one night or 2 like we did. That way you can drive home on day 3.

Room Tip: I did not rate the Sleep quality Excellent as the wall mounted heating/cooling unit was a bit noisy...

We bought a 2 nights package deal for 2 that included a deluxe suite, breakfast, tour of the winery and tasting, a $100 voucher for a restaurant in the County and taxi service to the restaurant and back to the Inn. For $300, great deal! The room was very nice, lots of lovely wood work, style and comfort. The bathroom was very spa like with jacuzzi for 2 and glass-walled shower with body sprayers. Each room had its own small outdoor patio, fenced on the side for privacy but opened to the courtyard. The breakfast was self-serve and it was fun making our own waffles with fruit and whipped cream. Holly (the breakfast queen) was very pleasant, efficient and enthusiastic about the Inn and showed us other rooms that we could consider for a future stay. Very smart! Her fresh baking was very good. The vinery on the other end was quite disappointing. We were not told that tours happened at specific times so when we went we were unable to have a tour. The tasting was a bit of a joke. The young man pouring had no information or enthusiasm about the wines. The sparkling rosé we tasted was flat. We would definitely stay there again when in the County, perhaps in one of the basic rooms which were very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the winery side (west wing) and preferably not on the inner garden side as AC is v...

My fiancé and I tried heading east this long weekend as opposed to the usual Niagara Falls and let me just say, we had a great time! The staff at the Huff Estates were all extremely friendly and accommodating. The package we got was for a one night stay which included a dinner credit with shuttle included, a wine tour of their establishment and breakfast - all totally worth it!

Rooms were furnished beautifully, bed was very comfortable. I have absolutely no complaints about Huff Estates.

This is my fourth stay at Huffs and I can't say enough about this location. The rooms, the food, the people and of course the location never disappoints.

I attended Huffs as part of a group of individuals from across the province that meet quarterly as a provincial Board of Directors. The staff at Huffs went out of their way each and every day to ensure that we enjoyed our stay to the fullest, even preparing special meals for one individual in our group with special dietary needs. I have an extra 5 pounds to lose as a result of the wonderful snacks they provided during the day but I can live with that.

If you are thinking of spending a night or a weekend in Prince Edward County then Huffs is the ideal location. Fabulous restaurants like the Waring House and Blooming are just minutes away and feature dishes that will keep you coming back!

Kudos to the staff at Huffs....your attention to detail is what sets you apart from the others.

I can't wait to come back

Kim

Stayed here one night on the Jaunt deal. Great value! Huff Estates is located in beautiful Prince Edward County about 10 minutes west of Picton. The room is spacious and inviting. Furnished well with a nice walkout patio. Included in our deal was an adequate breakfast and a great bottle of wine. We had dinner at the winery which was wonderful. If you are interested in touring one of Ontario's growing wine areas - stop in here for the night. You won't be disappointed. Cheers!

Found this wonderful winery/inn on Jaunt - and what an awesome deal it was. I surprised my husband for our 5th anniversary with a one night getaway. We stayed in the deluxe room with a king bed. The room was absolutely gorgeous. It felt more like a home than a hotel room. It was so comfortable and relaxing. The management has seemed to have thought of everything, down to having a nightlight in the bathroom. Everything was just so inviting and warm. We took the free shuttle into the Waringhouse pub - Chris, the driver, was super nice. Our pub fare was amazing and the entertainment was truly enjoyable. The wines at the estate were quite tasty and we picked up a bottle or two. I can not wait to return in the summer months, I can only imagine how beautiful it must be when everything is green.
Absolutely wonderful experience.

Room Tip: Every room is gorgeous.

Our visit through jaunt.ca exceeded our expectations. Not only were the staff extremely knowledgeable and friendly, our room was very comfortable and beautifully appointed, the breakfast that came with our room was wonderful and we were able to take advantage of the Countylicious dinner special at the winery. $35 for a 3 course gourmet meal along with $10 for a wine flight to accompany the meal. Everything was just great - the tour and tastings with Brian and the tea/coffee available all the time, free movies to borrow - we'll be back. Thanks for the wonderful March Break getaway!
