We really enjoyed our stay in Ancaster at this b & b. Great setting in the wilderness, but really close to Ancaster. We were attending a wedding at the Ancaster Mill and Bill had everything arranged to make our stay easy and comfortable. Our room was lovely and clean with a great wilderness view. Breakfast was delicious! Would be happy to go back!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. Spring in the woodlot is a complete renewal in so many ways. Good luck with your careers. Make time to enjoy the family cottage. Thanks for the review. Cheers, Bill

We stayed at the Ridgemoor the night before the Paris to Ancaster Bicycle Race. The location couldn't have been more ideal. Tucked into the woods, the B&B was relaxing and quiet but only a few kilometers away from the finish line in Ancaster. The night before the race, we found a great Thai restaurant just minutes away for a Pad Thai carbo load.

We were able to set up and store our bikes in Bill's garage overnight so that everything was set up and ready in the morning.

Bill cooked us the perfect pre-race breakfast of pancakes with maple syrup and honey both made on his property. Bill even allowed us a late checkout so we could come back to shower and change after the race.

Our room was large and comfortable with a great view of the blooming magnolia tree in the back yard.

Our only regret was not having planned to stay a second night to enjoy Bill's company and the property!

Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed Ridgemoor. Too bad about the thick mud but I guess it comes with the time of the year and I'm sure it helps cement the race in your memories. Spring continues to unfold in so many ways here in the woodlot. Good luck with the training. cheers, Bill

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ridgemoor.Beautiful peaceful wooded property with many ponds including Wee Lochan.Despite the tranquility, the property is close to Ancaster and major highways. The house is large, full of light and welcoming. The rooms are well appointed, clean with private bathrooms. Breakfast was delicious, home cooked, with lots of fresh fruit, including warm maple syrup produced on the premises by our gracious host, Bill. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

Thank-you for the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. New signs of spring appear daily. The trout lily, spring beauty ,trilliums and blue cohosh flowered last week

Best of both worlds. This is a lovey, quiet B & B nestled in the woods but very close to charming Ancaster and main highways. It was perfectly clean, with a great bed and homey decor. Upstairs lounge area was filled with loads of information on area sights. Bill, the owner and host was very friendly, full of local history and a great cook. Breakfasts were fanstastic and included homade maple syrup. A private bathroom was just down a short hall, and a robe was provided in case one was needed. Would certainly stay again if we were in the area. A great value as well. Highly recommend. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but did walk the wooded trails, which were lovely.

Room Tip: All 3 rooms seem to have a great view and were similar size.
