Ridgemoor B&B
Ranked #2 of 5 Ancaster B&B and Inns

Best of both worlds. This is a lovey, quiet B & B nestled in the woods but very close to charming Ancaster and main highways. It was perfectly clean, with a great bed and homey decor. Upstairs lounge area was filled with loads of information on area sights. Bill, the owner and host was very friendly, full of local history and a great cook. Breakfasts were fanstastic and included homade maple syrup. A private bathroom was just down a short hall, and a robe was provided in case one was needed. Would certainly stay again if we were in the area. A great value as well. Highly recommend. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but did walk the wooded trails, which were lovely.

Room Tip: All 3 rooms seem to have a great view and were similar size.

Stayed at Ridgemoor while attending my daughter's wedding at Knollwood Club House, which is only 1 km. away. Many other attractions within a short driving distance from here. Very quiet, beautiful forested area away from the city, but still within driving distance. Breakfasts were all great. Bill gave us choices of what we wanted the next day.
Would definitely stay here again.

Part of a family group of 6, 4 from UK, 2 from Canada. Most friendly b&b you could hope for. Bill was so friendly and helpful. Lovely pool, fascinated by humming birds, Bill makes great maple syrup and super breakfasts. Easy for Niagara etc. Thank you Bill for a great stay. First class!! Malcolm and Liz.

Thanks for the review, it was a pleasure hosting your group. I felt like a perfect foil to your sharp and witty retorts and 1-liners. It was indeed an honour to have a MBE recipient at the breakfast table. We could use your expertise with our airport. cheers, Bill

On a tour of southern Ontario with my husband, parents and in-laws (three couples), Bill's B&B provided a wonderful second home for four nights from which to explore the area. It's a fantastic place, and Bill is a fantastic host: friendly, helpful, and best of all, he supplies excellent maple syrup with breakfast harvested from his own back yard. We swam in the pool, sunned in the back yard, and kept an eye out for hummingbirds (when we weren't visiting Stratford or Niagara-on-the-Lake). The rooms are large and comfortable, the bathrooms good and the breakfasts more than than filling. The downstairs makes for a great place to chill and relax and enjoy some Niagara wine after a day of exploration. Just about the perfect B&B!

My husband, duaghter and I stayed at Ridgemore for 5 nights in early July. Ridgemore B&B is situated in a peaceful rural setting about 1.5 hours from Toronto airport and 1.5 hours from Niagara. Each day got off to a great start with a bountiful breakfast prepalyred by our host Bill. When not touring we enjoyed the wonderful heated pool and hot tub. For a relaxing stay with excellent facilties and food I would heartily recommend Ridgemore.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. My knowledge of Ireland has increased a lot and it is all favourable. Raise a glass to Darren Clarke for his win at the British Open, I did. Cheers, Bill

First of all, Ancaster is a beautifully maintained well-to-do suburb of Hamilton, formerly a small village with a rich history of its own. Ancaster is a quick ten minute drive to downtown Hamilton where we took in the 20th Annual Canadian International Military Tattoo. Ridgemoor B&B is situated not far from the village center by car in a rural setting. The driveway is a charming winding path through sugar bush opening onto a large house with a pond beside it. We stayed in the "Backyard Scene" room which was spacious and comfortable. We had the use of a large private bathroom which was across the hall. Our stay included two nights with a hearty breakfast each morning cooked by our host Bill. It included fresh fruit and yogurt, eggs, bacon toast and coffee. There were copious amounts of pancakes our second morning. lol Our host was friendly and helpful in finding a restaurant to eat supper (we can recommend the Coach and Lantern Pub)and in giving directions for a quick side trip to the Niagara wine making region. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay there again.

Thanks for the positive review. The breakfast table conversation was unique to say the least. I think those bulls are getting short changed. The next time you stay be sure to bring the "pipes". The sound would be great echoing across the pond. Cheers, Bill
