This is a lovely memorial tribute garden to honour our veterans. It is in the centre of the park along the waterfront and worth stopping to look at. You might even "tear up" and reflect on what is happening in our world today with violence and hatred. The Town of Ajax and whoever else created this monument site have done a remarkable job. Isn't it nice that our Veterans can be honoured for the sacrifices they have made for our freedoms?

I have been to this place at the waterfront many times .I find it very interesting ,relaxing and beautiful ,esp. on a nice sunny day. It tells about the battle of the River Plate during WW 2 ,also a lot about Ajax the town ,the naming of streets etc.I have taken my grand-children,family and friend from out of town and overseas to enjoy this lovely place.Even some of my friends from Ajax did not know about this little jewel at the waterfront.

Interesting history of Ajax and the battle of the River Plate (involving the HMS Ajax) on the various plaques. Nice spot to overlook the lake.

A walking park on the bluffs of Lake Ontario at the foot of Harwood ave. Historical plaques and pictures highlight the history of Ajax. Lots of benches and some picnic tables. Washrooms adjacent to the nearby parking lot.

as we are troop supports we ar totally biased in this review. parking is off to either side to preserve the walking into the display feeling, there re many ship names, veterans and history of Ajax. Ajax was actually the sight for building munitions for the war effort, on hunt street there are still raised war bunker warehouse that were used to make the munitions.
Camp X where ian fleming was posted a bit, and wrote of james Bond is over in Whitby
