Really enjoyed the service and the atmosphere in an old stone building built in 1845. Lots of choice of fish and regular pub fare. Wish there was a hotel on the 2nd floor so there would be a hotel with an actual restaurant in town.

Lucky us to find ourselves stopping in New Glasgow for lunch, before heading to Celtic Colours in Nova Scotia. The Dock's Friday special was fish cakes lightly pan fried, served with Caesar salad, all delicious. We split an order and added a bowl of their chowder on the recommendation of charming host and owner Carmel Margeson. Of course we washed it all down with pints of Keith's beer, only available in Canada. Sighting bowls of steaming mussels being served in this charming Irish pub, we announced our return the following Tuesday for lunch to try them. Carmel promised she would have mussels ready and she came through as promised. We tried them in the garlic, butter, wine broth with Irish soda bread and the Cajun Crab cakes, this time served by Carmel's husband Wayne. Another winner! A perfect meal to top off a perfect weekend of Celtic music in our beloved Cape Breton.

Great atmosphere! You feel like you're in Ireland or Scotland. My husband had the chowder and he loved it! We stopped at The Dock for a break between wedding ceremony pictures and the reception and I would have been more than happy to spend the whole evening there drinking and laughing!!

The Dock is located in probably the oldest building in town and has a nice homey atmosphere as you would expect in an Irish pub. A good beer selection and the food is just fine.( but they don't use lamb in their Irish Stew)

We ate upstairs on the deck despite the threat of rain. Good welcoming service, nice view, good food and draft beer. When it started to rain lightly, they offered to move us and others indoors. Most people wanted to continue outside and umbrellas were quickly brought out for the tables. There was something intangible about the feel of this place that made the total experience really lovely.
