“Good Pre Flight Meal”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2013

Decent place to go have a bite to eat before your flight and kill some time. It's the only sit down restaurant (before security) besides the fast food places in the food court. It's located right beside the entrance to the security checkpoint.
Service is decent, usually only have 2 servers working, so if it gets busy then you might have to flag one of them down if you want anything. Menu is good and lots of beers on tap. Had the Bacon Cheeseburger with a salad and my wife had the Veggie Burger with sweet potato fries. Both meals were actually really good. Give yourself a good 45 mins here to not be rushed.

“Make sure you have an hour”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

Make sure You have at least an hour to kill and not in a rush to catch a flight because the service is very slow. All we ordered was a burger and a salad and, from the time she took our order to when we had to rush to leave was over half an hour.

This is definitely NOT fast food!

“Good quick airport meal”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

We had an hour to kill and shared some chicken wings and beers. Better than most chicken wings, sauce on the side. Service fast and pleasant.

“Plenty of Draft on-hand...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2013

The Maritime Ale House is always an excellent 'last-stop' for a good, tall, cold draft ALE, before departing Halifax. (And several times I've enjoyed the food, pretty good for an airport)
Service is always cheerful, especially from Mary, and the ambiance of such a small place is great, including their pleasant 'faux' outdoor patio area.
BUT, I DO enjoy sitting at the bar and reading the local news with my pint after every visit.
Cheers,
Paul

“What's in a Name?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2012

With a name like "Maritime Ale House: Molson Heritage Pub", I sat down in anticipation of something other then the usual fast food restaurants found in Halifax airport. I was the only patron at 11:45 am and the server was prompt and efficient. I ordered the Blue Cheese burger with fries at just over 13 dollars. The food arrived in a timely fashion. Sadly, that is the only positive thing I can say about this meal.

Knowing that Nova Scotia has some great local beef producers, I was anticipating a delicious home made hamburger. The burger was unfortunately a pre-made processed patty with a strange stringy texture and the usual boring lack of taste that you find in the frozen hockey pucks you can buy in any grocery store. The toppings included a portion of spinach, a small sliver of mushy avocado, red onions, too much mayo and not near enough blue cheese sprinkles. The blue cheese was hidden in the sea of mayo and hard to taste.

The french fries were your garden variety cafeteria-style frozen twigs. Any thought of washing it down with a beer was quickly forgotten when the server told me that a pint of draught beer was over 9 dollars. This pub could be a shining light at the Halifax airport but instead only stands out for its over priced fast-food.
