Being very fussy as to where we stay, Gray Gables and the owners far exceeded our expectations and standards. Super clean, comfortable, large rooms, exceptional view, close to beaches, trails, shopping and dining. We are recommending this B&B to all and will return whenever visiting the East coast. I am now hooked on the B & B idea but only if they are of as high a standard as Gray Gables. Thank you Dave and Jacqui.

We stayed at the Gray Gables for a one night stay
day week. Our room was huge, with plenty of closet space and room for luggage. We had a king bed with a fireplace and separate sitting area...with great views of the water. The owners are very interesting hosts with excellent recommendations of the surrounding area. The only shortcoming is the hot breakfast but could have offered some fruit. Very minor point for what was a very pleasant stay.

Our curling team had the pleasure of occupying all rooms at Gray Gables in Feb 2014. The rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated. While we weren't there in the summer the beauty of the location shone through the snow and cold - it would be spectacular in summer. Jacqui and Dave were very accommodating and wonderful hosts. We even had the living room to ourselves to commiserate after our curling losses! Breakfasts were delicious and filling. Jacqui makes the best chocolate chip cookies. Would definitely return.

We wanted to find a spot not too far from Halifax, but near the sea and we were delighted to spend 4 nights at Gray Gables in Chester. We enjoyed a downstairs room with large bathroom and walk-in closet and large window overlooking Mahone Bay. Hosts Jacqui and Dave are delightful hardworking people who strive to make their guests feel at home. BOTH of them are great cooks and took turns serving up delicious breakfasts featuring local fruit and berries and maple syrup. They were also very helpful in pointing us toward scenic spots to visit and top quality places to eat. We felt very much at home and told everybody we met on the reat of our trip about Gray Gables!

We stayed at Gray Gables at the end of a wonderful two week visit to Nova Scotia - would recommend autumn as a great time to visit the Maritimes. This B & B was chosen based on the excellent reviews on the Trip Advisor website and it certainly did not disappoint. Our room was beautifully appointed - love the big soaker tub in the bathroom- and the view over Graves Island was spectacular. Dave's impressive breakfast lasted us until dinner in Halifax! A lovely place to stay.

Gray Gables is the ultimate in a B&B. Jacqui and Dave (the owners) are fabulous. Jacquie is the most amazing person and prepares an outstanding breakfast. If you want to eat healthy, you get a fruit, yogart, and granalo parfait with whole grain muffins, (delicious). For the hardier appetite, you get a breakfast prepared by a cordon bleu chef, can I say more. Dave, the gently giant is aroung part of the time and makes you feel sooo safe and totally at home. We hope to go back many times.

Room Tip: There was no swimming pool, but there is a beach on the island in front of the property. There was...
