It is great to have some dining options when travelling by boat in the Mahone Bay area and we missed the Galley. We had the opportunity to eat lunch at the Galley on the weekend and we were impressed with both the service and the food choices. We sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the beautiful ocean view. Business seemed slow but I don't think enough people know they have reopened. We will go back for dinner sometime soon.

We have eaten here a few times now and each time the food has been excellent. The location has beautiful views also. The servers are always very polite and knowledgeable about the menu, including making sure you're aware of the daily special's. Tuesday night "all you can eat" Haddock is a big hit too. We are looking forward to taking our family and friends from the UK here in the future.

Found this place through trip advisor. We called to make reservations about an hour before dinner and requested sitting by the window overlooking the bay. Once We arrived, We were shown to a nook overlooking the bay which had sitting for 4. The staff were Great! helpful, prompt and occasionally cracking a joke yet always professional. The food was excellent. All the seafood was cooked to perfection, the portions were very decent. All in all, a very nice place with really good food.

My husband and I have been at the Gallery a couple of different times this year and we both agreed that the food was amazing!! Just this past weekend we indulged in the Lobster Poutine & the Curry Mussels - words cannot explain how good these two dishes were. We also had amazing service, big thanks to Jill for her superior customer service and making our dining experience such a great one – we can’t wait to go back!!

Restaurants are such a personal experience. While many of the reviews on here are absolutely glowing, I've learned over the years to expect less rather than more. Are the reviews from friends or locals who really want the restaurant to succeed? Are the bad reviews from someone who normally only eats at McDonald's or worse, from someone who only eats at Cordon Bleu restaurants? I'm just a normal shmo who likes good food.
We made reservations for 7pm on a recent Saturday evening. They clearly eren't needed because it was dead. Was it because of the beautiful weather that day and people couldn't tear themselves away from the outdoors? We got a window table,as we had requested. Marvelous! But we immediately noticed the SWARMS of fruit flies. Our server brought us our beverage orders and we had to ask for
something to cover our glasses. She explained that something had "recently" spilled, and the fruit flies were there as a result. No offer to change tables. It was one reason this review is giving 3 stars.
Back to the beverages. The wine list is extensive enough for a place like this. Offers 5 reds & 5 whites by the glass. All wines offered by the bottle. When 2 of us ordered the same red wine, our server was kind enough ot offer 1/2 litre carafe. Why isn't this on the menu? They were having a "problem" with the draught beer, so it came later, and for some reason had to. Be poured into a pitcher before being poured into glasses?!
Spinach salad is DIVINE! Really. Nice soft baby spinach leaves, almonds (not toasted as advertised), grape tomatoes, feta cheese and a delicious dressing. Wonderful. One small note, red peppers were supposed to be in the salad and were also missing.
Mains: buttermilk haddock - looked like an Aunt Jemima pancake and with the thick coating that was completely burned on the underside, it was not good at all! Served with basmati rice. Strange.
- seafood papardelle - 3 scallops, 3 shrimp, 5 cold mussels in a creamy sauce that was spiced with chili peppers. Strange.
- chicken parmegian- looked like a Kraft slice melted on beaded chicken with a splash of tomato sauce and served with papardelle. Strange.
I like fesh ground pepper with my food. It was offered with the salad, but not the mains. Strange.
Coffee and tea was offered. Dessert wasn't.
Service was adequate, but considering how slow it was, service wasn't amazing.
Views are soothing, and beautiful.
This winter they are evidently staying open until January 2, 2013. Good luck.
Bring your (fruit) fly swatter.
