“Charming and Comfortable”

We loved this Cape Breton heritage house that once housed the family of "Donald the Dyer" for which the area of Glendyer is named. From the miniture donkeys in the pasture to the brook running through the property, everything is perfect. I had my best sleep yet in the comfortable room no. 3 (could hear the brook running past with the window open). Sat on the peaceful back porch over looking the labyrinth with a glass of white wine. All-in-all a wonderful experience.

My wife and me stayed for one night during a vacation trip in Nova Scotia. The stay at the "Inn at Glendyer" clearly was one of the positive highlights during our trip through Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. It is not directly located in Mabou but a bit outside - this turned out to be a very positive aspect as the room was very quiet and we could do some walking on a trail right next to the Inn (including the opportunity to observe bald eagles which certainly added to the memorable experience).
The host, Jill, was very friendly and helpful (great chat with her and the other couple that stayed at the Inn during a fantastic breakfast).
The room was very clean and newly renovated (as was the large bathroom).
As Mabou id definitely worth a visit (don't miss the Red Shoe Pub), the Inn at Glendyer is a great place to stay (at least) for a night if you travel through Cape Breton. We would definitely stay here again if we come to Capa Breton the next time.

You really can't pass this place up. It is in a beautiful, serene location. The house is gorgeous and beautifully remodeled (especially our private bathroom). The breakfast was delicious, the room was comfortable (and sparkling clean), and the host (Jill) was gracious and friendly. She really has a gift for opening her home to guests and making them feel welcome. She is an excellent conversationalist as well; it was quite pleasant to sit with her in the sitting room while enjoying a cup of tea and chat.

I read the other review about the donkey- sorry that we missed it! How cute!

She had excellent suggestions for sightseeing activities as well.

My husband and I will definitely be back! We vacation through the area every year, and we now have a new favorite.

I highly recommend you check out the Inn at Glendyer- it really was a highlight of our trip.

Room Tip: Go for room number two- very spacious!

After a lively Sunday afternoon of music at the Red Shoe Pub in Mabou, we checked into The Inn at Glendyer. You will not be disappointed by the friendly and helpful owner, Jill. She has tastefully decorated the rooms and I had the best night sleep since we have been on our trip. We took a morning walk along the nearby walking trail that runs along the brook and returned to have a hearty breakfast. After checking the prices for other accommodations in Mabou, it seems like this is a very good price considering the well-appointed bathrooms with hydrotherapy tubs and the full hot breakfast. We will return!

The Inn at Glendyer is in a lovely setting along a stream which we could hear from our bedroom (no. 3). The heritage home has been carefully restored and has a lot of charm and character. The hostess is most helpful and she served a large and well-prepared buffet breakfast. I would definitely recommend this to friends.

Room Tip: Room No. 3 is the closest to the stream and has a little sitting room which is very cozy.

Recently we stayed at the Inn at Glendyer. What a beautiful home Jill has to share with travellers. Our rooms were large with so much character. Each room had a very nice baththroom as well. Besides Jill being a great host, this home was very clean. She served a delicious breakfast in the morning with lots of variety of foods. This Inn maybe a few minutes drive from Mabou but it is well worth the time. We recommend this Inn to everyone.

This Lady has transformed this gorgeous grand home from great to spectacular. The second you enter you feel welcome. The brook, hot tub, Labyrinth, Country sounds and immaculate
accommodations all compliment the food. Jill is warm and giving and we cannot wait to stay at
the Glendyre again asap.
As an added bonus, should you need a relaxing massage...she is your therapist.
All in all a great experience you must stop in even if just to meet the Burros Molto Bennie and D.
Daisy.

Room Tip: All four are spotless but three has an added bonus.
