We spent the night at Cranberry Cove in the summer of 2011 before touring the Fort Louisbourg Site the following day. It is a beautiful old house in a quiet location with plenty of guest parking.

We stayed in the Isle Royal room. The room was quiet, (even with the B&B being full) and comfortable, very clean and the staff were very pleasant to deal with. Breakfast was good, and the price for our room for the night was reasonable at $120. Wireless internet was also convenient as I usually travel with a laptop.

There are a couple local restaurants nearby for lunch and supper within walking distance, however selection is fairly limited; Louisbourg is a small town. You can also eat in the Fort at a couple different historically themed "restaurants" if you are visiting this sight.

We were pleased with our trip and recommend this location to anyone traveling to Louisbourg for its comfort and convenience.

Room Tip: Isle Royal was comfortable, quiet and reasonably priced.

Because our visit to Fort Louisbourg took longer than expected (there was so much to see!) it was close to 5:00 PM when we ended up in the town itself. We had seen the Cranberry Cove B&B on the way; it looked inviting and had vacancies. We ended up in the "Secret Garden" room, a very tastefully decorated room with a comfortable bed, wicker furniture and a Jacuzzi. The Inn itself is supposedly more than a century old and the owners have expanded it by adding sections without destroying the character of the home. They have painstakingly restored it and stocked it with period furniture. An excellent breakfast, including a quiche, was served in the dining room. The owners were pleasant and gracious. This B&B is one of those places where one could easily spend a few days, enjoying a good night's sleep, a hearty and well-prepared breakfast, and while the day away reading.

We enjoyed our night at Cranberry Cove. Beautiful location, comfortable beds, and a nice hot breakfast in the morning. It is located close to the Fortress.

Unfortunately, Louisbourg only has a few restaurants in the vicinity, and the food at the lobster restaurant overlooking the harbour was very disappointing.

My mother and I chose this property due to the availability of a room with two beds (Anne's Hideaway), price, and proximity to the Fortress. We were not disappointed in any major way and were charmed by most things we found here. It's impossible to miss; a tall Victorian painted a strong wine/ cranberry color. We were greeted by Sam in the reception area. Sam was very helpful in recommending a local restaurant, directions to a nearby hiking trail, and tips on touring the Fortress. He also brought tea to our room and was at breakfast the next morning serving the food. The breakfast was excellent both days, but fussy eaters beware; they don't offer choices. You get what you get or stick to the cereals and yogurt. Most of the tables were for two, so you can choose to interact with other travelers at breakfast or not. I think they are working Sam too hard and should give him a raise. He's really really nice!
The room was fine, but oddly had no place to hang up clothes. The armoire was dedicated to the TV. The room was covered with butterfly pictures, which I would remove and replace with hooks if I were in charge. We left the windows open to let out some of the heat, but got some noise from an adjacent motor home park, where apparently a party was going on. The twin beds were comfy though, and the L shape of the room was nice in that it gave each of us our own space. I know there were more luxurious room which would appeal to couples; they leave the doors of unoccupied rooms open so you can take a gander if you want.
I would definitely stay again at this property, and I hope to come back to the area with my husband and maybe stay in one of the higher end rooms.

Room Tip: Anne's Hideaway is good for two single people, such as two women traveling together. It's lo...

The Cranberry Cove Inn is easy to find and in a great location for access to the Fortress. We had two rooms for our stay, each was spacious and well maintained. We had a large suitcase and it was slightly challenging getting it up the stairs, as there wasn't a lot of room to turn the corners. Breakfast was really good, but having a choice between two entrees would be nice. The TV in the room was very small. We certainly didn't come here to watch TV, but it might be nice to update those to something larger.

We stayed two nights at the Cranberry Cove Inn while visiting Louisbourgh and the Fortress which is not far from this lovely B&B. We loved the common areas with its period furniture. Our room (don't remember the name right now) was lovely. It was very clean and the bed comfortable. Our host, Sam, the son of the owners of the B&B was delightful. He brought our bags to the room and prepared breakfast each morning. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Don't pass this place up when you travel to Louisburg - you won't be dissapointed.

Room Tip: Sorry, don't remember the name of the room. But we peeked into a few of them and they all looke...
