We came to Louisbourg to see the Fort. This visit to the Playhouse was totally unplanned and absolutely amazing and worth the stop. Shawn MacDonald is an amazing fiddler. He played everything from classical to foot-stomping east coast music. The $18/person admission fee is cheap for the quality of work we enjoyed. The tea and oat cakes at intermission were a nice treat. Anyone who travels to Louisbourg should stop and take in a show here. As an added bit of interest, the playhouse was part of the movie set for a Disney movie filmed at Fort Louisbourg.

We were treated to a performance of "Men of the Deeps," a coal miners' choir. We were astounded by their professionalism and authenticity. It was a moving experience.

An intimate setting for some wonderful music and those amazing oatcakes and tea was a very Cape Breton touch.

We saw a delightful show, "Men of the Deeps," muscal selections by a choir of former miners. The playhouse was small, and our balcony seats left something to be desired. They were far from comfortable, and, being short, I had to lean forward to see over the railing. Don't sit in the balcony if you go there!
