“great experience, will be back in 2010!”
Reviewed December 14, 2009

We spent a couple of days here on a girls tip around the Cabot Trail this past summer and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was welcoming and demonstrated gold old Cape Breton hospitality. Great hiking and outdoor activities close by that are second to none. Great location and we'll see you again in 2010.

My partner and I are in our mid 40's and visited Ingonish for a week hiking and biking. We stayed in one of the chalets for 3 nights and were very happy with our accomodations. Comfortable beds, no loud noise when expected, and only steps from the beach across the road. The location was perfect for us. We will come again. Thank you.

We recently stayed in one of the two-bedroom cottages. The location is great and the view is lovely across to Keltic Lodge.

The cottages are rustic, but clean. The kitchen is quite large. However, the equipment / cutlery / dishes are very sparse and not good quality. Definitely bring your own knives and pot / frying pan if you mind cooking with flimsy stuff. Fridge and cooktop are good but the barbecue is pretty rough. Loudest dishwasher I've ever heard! No salt or pepper, let alone other condiments. They do provide dish soap and dishwasher detergent. There is no oven in the kitchen, just a microwave. They had a toaster and coffee maker.

They provide wood for the fireplace, which is nice. The sitting room is not that big. It's ok for two couples or a small family, though. There are not a lot of satellite channels. The TV set is pretty basic, but flat screen.

The deck is nice for sitting out. Not a lot of bugs when we were there due to the time of year. Saw a few spiders. They keep the large lawns well groomed.

The bedrooms are simple but the queen bed was fine. A decent pillow would have been appreciated. The bathroom is also simple - the shower head is quite low but the pressure is all right. They provide the very cheap little bars of soap so bring your own if you have sensitive skin or are otherwise fussy. The bath towels are tiny and they don't really seem to want to give you more than one per person of each size of towel. No shampoo, no hair dryer.

All in all, it was a basic place to stay and is fine as long as your expectations aren't super high.

The only rude and unfriendly person that we encountered in our week in Nova Scotia was the owner?/manager? at Sea Breeze Cottages. Also, the beds were uncomfortable and we eagerly left after one night.

This is an old-fashioned type motel and cottages just across the highway from the beach in Ingonish. On the night we stayed (June 20) there was little traffic to interrupt the view. We stayed in a motel unit directly in front of the bay. The sound of the waves crashing on the beach lulled us to sleep. The rooms are dated but clean, hot water plentiful and out in front of the unit are chairs to sit and soak up the scenery of this beautiful bay. For the money, it was the best value on our trip. There is a restaurant directly across the street, so you can walk over and get a good meal.

It's certainly not luxury, but we'd stay at the Sea Breeze again, the money we saved staying here allowed me to play a round of golf on the Highland Links course. It's that good a value.
