We stayed here (motel room) for one night on a golf package at Highland Links. The rooms are small but clean and furnished with the bare essentials. Seating is limited - the bed, one chair and a bench. There was a mini fridge and microwave which we hadn't expected to see so that was a bonus although we didn't make use of them. The beds were very comfortable - the manager said they had recently replaced the mattresses. The owners were pleasant to deal with and check-in/check-out was hassel-free. The rooms have a very handy directory the owners put together with available restaurants/services nearby and directions/distances. Beautiful views of the harbour across the road. When you factor out the cost of the green fees, the net cost of the room was very close to what we paid in Inverness and Ben Eoin but lesser quality of accommodation. I would probably stay overnight again if I couldn't find something else of comparable price in Ingonish. We really only needed a place to sleep and this fit the bill just fine. For an extended stay, I would look for something larger. Possibly their cottages are a little roomier?

Room Tip: The Bean Barn Cafe is a great spot for breakfast.

Had a difficult time securing accommodations in this area for the time period we needed so we ended up at the Sea Breeze. Rooms were very small. No air conditioning and, despite the breeze outside, no cross ventilation so room was stifling hot. Fridge and microwave were ancient. Fridge was unplugged so don't know how long it would have taken to chill anything. Beds were very comfortable and we slept well in spite of the heat. We had limited dealings with the owners but they seemed very pleasant.
This would not have been my first choice but it was clean and the beds were comfortable.

To be fair, it's very hard to find a reasonably priced motel in the Maritime Provinces in the summer that doesn't disappoint. We're going to go with something a little more upscale when we come back through. First the good: The owners are lovely people and do their best to make you feel at home. And the view of the sea is lovely, though from the other side of the road. Though the road was close to the motel rooms, the traffic really died down at night. The bed was comfortable. On the negative side, the motel room we had was really small, so small that there was no where to sit other than the bed. And to get any air at all (it was warm when we were there), you needed to leave your windows open, which brought in the sounds from outside, the road, your neighbors, etc. And the internet was so slow we gave up on it most of the time. If others were on line, the system slowed to a crawl or non-existent. This is a problem in a lot of motels nowadays though. Given the noise from neighbors sitting outside to talk, you know that they could hear everything you said too, so no privacy. And to get the view, you'd have to leave the curtains open, which would give your neighbors a look at you sitting on your bed every time they walked by. But for the money, a comfortable bed to sleep in is perhaps as much as you could ask. Just know the downside, and decide if you want to pay more for more privacy.

Room Tip: Maybe get a cottage instead of a motel room if you can afford it.

Just stayed in one of the studio cottages at this location and it was a great experience over all. We decided to split up the cabot trail into two days and decided to book a cottage to rest our bones for a night. Stunbled upon this place, prices were right and location was perfect. Very close to the ingo harbour and the provincial beach, with only a 7k distance to the nearest bank and NSLC. I was weary of the place because of the previous reviews about the owners but treat others as you would wish to be treated. The cottages were cozy and clean with a bbq at your disposal and a decent deck to sit out on in the nights to watch the sunset behind the mountains. Overall great experience and great customer service. Will be staying here again!!

Friendly informative staff. Cottages & motel are modern with full kitchens, dishes & utensils. TV is older and only gets Cdn channels. Rooms were very clean and all have an ocean view. WiFi is good Grills are provided and restaurants are a short drive away. Very relaxing & quiet place. Would stay here again. It's on the Cabot Trail with great scenery.

Would never stay here again. badly in need of update. Cabin was basically in the woods with no view. had to buy dish towels and dish cloths and dish detergent as none of this was in the cabin. Owner not very friendly, and our bill was over 100 more when we went to check out then when we signed in.

I am sorry that you were disappointed with your accommodations.
We do make a point of letting people know when they are reserving one of our two cottages that doesn't have a view at the time the reservation is made.
Dish cloths, dish towels, dish soap as well as dishwasher soap are all supplied by us.
When you made your reservation, it was made for 2 adults and 1 child. The $90 additional charge on your bill was for the 3 additional adults staying with you for 2 nights.

We just happened on this motel in Ingonish and really got lucky. The room was very comfortable with a beautiful view. Mary, the owner, was so helpful, telling us about places to eat and where to hike. She also has a great sense of humor. I felt very comfortable asking questions or for extra towels. Very nice!
