My fiance and I didn't dine in the restaurant, but we did head down to the pub. The fish and chips was freshly prepared and delicious, and the beer was free-flowing and cold. But the best part of the evening was the live music. Cyril MacPhee and Rob MacLean played guitar and sang original and cover songs throughout the evening. I couldn't believe how talented they were. They really engaged the audience, and in fact, some of the audience members came up and sang some of the songs with them. A fun evening all around.

We had a very good experience here. We had a delicious soup, salad, steak. Didn't try dessert. The service was very good. Very clean, attractive restaurant. Best food so far in Ingonish (not the gourmet capital of the world). Opposite experience to the Previous reviewer.

We went to Glenghorm's main restaurant (they also have a pub) fairly early one evening. There were two other couples in the large restaurant, so there is no excuse for what happened. There were certainly no reservations needed!
We were seated by a window with a view of a dirt road, some sort of maintenance enclosure (maybe for a dumpster), and some nice trees. The dining room has low ceilings but is nice enough. They serve generous glasses of wine for reasonable prices, which was a good thing. The wine was ok. The bread was good, so we were primed for a nice experience.
My husband ordered roasted vegetable pasta, and I ordered lobster capellini. In both cases, the pasta was severely overcooked to the point of being gummy and mushy. If you can't cook pasta properly, you have no business cooking for a restaurant. The lobster sauce included some decent chunks of overcooked lobster, which I picked out and ate. Otherwise, the creamy tomato sauce was crammed with onions that overwhelmed the seafood. My husband's vegetables were so overcooked that they were mushy. Overall, both dishes could be best described as glop.
To complete the experience, the service was lousy. The waitress took our order, brought our food, and simply disappeared. She wasn't busy serving other tables. There were only two other tables, later three, and she wasn't the only waitress. We don't know where she went. Finally another waitress went to find her so we could get our check and escape.
Avoid this restaurant! Maybe they can cook something other than pasta, but you can do better in the area. Their prices are comparable to those for good food we had elsewhere.
