“Great vegetarian options”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2013 via mobile

Baddeck is a very cute spot to stop. The High Wheeler Cafe is a short drive off the 105. A great stop, great vegetarian options and free refill coffee. We all had the veggie burger and soup, delicious patty and the bun was fresh, the soup was delicious and fresh ingredients as well. A great place to eat, and it was very quick!

“this rating is based on just one item”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2013

my wife and i stopped for breakfast. we both ordered bagels with smoked salmon, something we frequently have in the morning. the salmon, cut tissue paper thin, was tasty enough but the portion was the smallest we've ever had, anywhere, inexcusable in relation to the price. the bagel is more like a roll. the coffee was ok but not nearly as good as the coffee shop across the street. we sat on the outside patio which provided a pleasant opportunity for people watching locals & tourists.

“Great Spot with Great Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2013

If you are in Baddeck and looking for a delicious lunch, the High Wheeler is definitely a great option.
Prices are a little high, but with the excellent, fresh ingredients we felt it was worth it.
Located along "Margaree Road" which becomes "Chebucto" Road with lots of interesting shops along the street and the harbour is a short walk from here.
We had lunch here and then walked to the main boat dock for sailing on the "Amoeba Sailing Tours".
Chicken Wrap was very tasty, but a little pricey.
Seafood Chowder was delicious!

“Fresh and Fast”

Great vegan options....especially the vegan gluten free muffins. Also a tasty bean burger on a spelt bun with salad. Fresh fruit salad...real fruit not from a bucket of syrup.

“Excellent homemade gluten free meals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

We had a delicious meal of salad and homemade soup. We also bought oat cakes and spelt bread to take home. All were excellent. The service was prompt, with free coffee refills, friendly atmosphere. Only downside is the soup is pricey. I would make this place a habit in Badeck, and I sensed that many locals do just that.
