“Very fresh lobster, gorgeous view”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

What more could you want? A beautiful, big lobster cooked when you order it, and, if you like, you can choose the critter first from their huge lobster pound. Other "lobster supper" restaurants in nearby Beddeck pre-cook their lobsters and re-heat them when you order one. Not here. The lobster is meltingly tender, and tastes absolutely clean and fresh. The view is spectacular as the restaurant is located right beside the water, and the tables overlook it. Service is very friendly and helpful (especially if you're new to the job of cracking your own lobster). Highly recommended.

“A real surprise.”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

We came to the Lobster Galley for lunch, and continued to have great fresh seafood with for $29 Canadian, mussels and a 1 1/4 lbs lobster. Just iced tea, and the lunch was grand. We came back the next day for lunch again, but I went into the lobster pond in the back and picked out a 4 Lbs lobster, which was grand, tasty, and a great lunch. I would like everyone to know that the staff as well as the owners were just lovely, and fun. And for those who are questioning the cost. The 4 lbs lobster was $73, and the total meal, with my wife's lobster was $113, including salad, and a desert. Do not miss this restaurant.

“tasty”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

Back in Cape Breton this year, loving the culture, seafood and peeps! Dropped in here again, amazing chowder and tea biscuits didn't disappoint- loved the pan fried haddock and lobster mac-n-cheese and kids portions were huge- my son loved the fish-n-chips. Didn't have room for dessert but saw all the fresh homemade goodies, had to get an oatcake to go! Super kid friendly, the waitress helped my son fish out a lobster from the lobster tanks on our way out.

“Thanksgiving”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

Not a great experience for Thanksgiving dinner. We went for the turkey dinner. Started off badly, seems to be one waitress for each table, therefore people coming in after us were served before us. First course of soup was okay, but had only had about 3 spoonsful when the entree arrived, not much room on the small table but waitress shoved it on. Turkey was dry (like it was heated in microwave) neeps cold, potatoes had garlic in them (which I hate), asked waitress if there were plain mashed potatoes - NO, didn't offer any other kind of potato at all. NOT GOOD!! Dessert was Plum cake with whipped cream - again dried out (warmed in microwave) Cost was $26 definitely not worth it!!

“Try Somewhere Else”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

We ate here since it was right beside the motel we stayed at and did so despite some of the reviews I read. Very pleasant people waiting on us but that didn't make the meal any better. The haddock was overcooked and the vegetables smothered in butter. I'm sure we could have done better somewhere else.
