“Excellent stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

We had a wonderful experience at Auld Farm Inn B&B. Jan and Glen were very welcoming hosts, and the Inn has a very warm and cozy atmosphere. We arrived late the night of our stay, which was not a problem at all. Breakfast the following morning was delicious with homemade muffins and blueberry pancakes. Jan and Glen are also very knowledgeable about the area, pointing out various places to see/activities all along the Cabot Trail. They also recommended Mother Webb's as a great place to eat in Antigonish (on the way from Halifax) and they couldn't have been more right - the food was great! We will definitely be back!

Mother Webb's is a favourite stopping place of ours when we are on the road through Antigonish, so we have no hesitation in recommending it to folks. Breakfast is, in our view, an important meal, so we try hard to make it a special one; we're delighted that we were able to do that for you. Our knowledge of the area has been gathered through our own experiences as well as that of our friends and of our guests, who are happy to share the information that they have when they stay with us. We so enjoy passing that knowledge on so that our guests make the most of their visit to the area. Hopefully you will be back again in the not too distant future to come and explore a little bit more of Cape Breton.
Best wishes
Jan & Glen

Thank you Jan and Glen for awesome hospitality and a wonderful room. The breakfast was fantastic with Jan's homemade bread and baked goods. It was a nice added touch having a local made soap sample in our bathroom. Our room was clean, spacious and very relaxing. Having no specific plans on our vacation, we left after breakfast and an hour later decided to spend a second night at Auld. This is a wonderful b&b, great company,in a great location with excellent hospitality. The hummingbirds were an added touch !

The group of people that we had staying when you were here, certainly blended well, which made our job a delight. We're so glad that you enjoyed the home-baking, as Jan really enjoys trying out new recipes for our guests. The hummingbirds have been hanging around the feeders quite a lot lately, but they still manage to give our visitors quite a challenge by their quick darting movements. We hope you managed to get a good photo of them.
Best wishes

Planned a short stay in Baddeck on the weekend and stayed at the Auld Farm Inn with my girlfriend. Everything was great: friendly service, clean and tidy, very comfortable bed and spacious room, and a great spread for breakfast. Very satisfied and can recommend them to all.

Jan and Glen were great. Our family of 4 was looking for one room and, initially, Glen suggested some other spots where we might be more comfortable since his available rooms would be tight with 4. He also said to call back if we had no luck. Apparently, we were late in booking and ended up calling back. Glen was very gracious and said it would be no problem for him but we might feel a little cramped. The room was great. The hummingbirds were great. And Jan booked us in for some local music in town. A very enjoyable and relaxing stay.
(apologies for the late entry - but life got in the way)

We are so glad that we could accommodate your family at the Inn. I'm pleased that we could get seats organised for you at the local ceilidh. The music in town is wonderful and gives visitors to our community an insight into the culture and heritage that built Baddeck and surrounding area. The hummingbirds are back again this year, feeding at the lounge window for all to see.
Kind regards

This was an amazing quick stop. I, unfortunately, had just over 30 hours to be on Cape Breton and needed a place to stay. Auld Farm Inn was open during the slow season, had a room that was just my size, and amazingly accommodating hosts. I could not have asked for a better B & B. Jan and Glen were quick to respond to emails, had a lot of priceless tips (they directed me places that wouldn't be in a guide book), and were very helpful during my short stay. Jan even contacted an acquaintance to get information about a strange question I had, and went above and beyond to get me the information after I had left.

I enjoyed the fresh cooked breakfast and cookies/tea in the evening- I will recommend Auld Farm to anyone traveling through Baddeck during any season! Thank you again Jan and Glen!

For starters, Jan and Glen's responses to my emails were extremely efficient and concise.
The b&b was perfect - it was spotless, nicely decorated, and the bed was so comfy we overslept on both nights. We were the only guests here since it was the winter season, but Jan and Glen were very friendly and made us feel at home, and they gave us great tips on travelling around the island and the Cabot Trail. It's a pity we came during the winter so many restaurants were closed, but they still recommended awesome places to eat (The Dancing Moose & Lobster Pound). It was really nice of them to call us when we arrived back late one night from the Cabot Trail.

The breakfast was wonderful too, we loved the bacon (who doesn't?) scrambled eggs and apple pancakes. I didn't think it was any inconvenient at all that the b&b is situated off Baddeck itself, since most people would arrive by car, and the town is only a 9 min drive away. In fact, the area was nice and quaint.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay, thanks Jan and Glen for the hospitality! We highly recommend Auld Farm Inn to our friends and other visitors to lovely Cape Breton.

Thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure having you stay with us. You are not the first people to oversleep and that particular bed has been the culprit on a number of occasions !! Were so glad that you were able to see the Cabot Trail in it's winter coat and sample some of the culinary delights that can be found around the island.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Auld Farm sometime in the future.
Best wishes

Jan and Glenn were great hosts and very friendly. The b and b itself is lovely and Baddeck Bay down the road is stunning. Bed was comfy and breakfast was good! It was a shame that being shoulder season for Cape Breton all the restaurants bar 2 were closed for the season; but they did recommend where to eat which was very helpful. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. Baddeck is certainly a lovely place to be and we feel very lucky to be able to live in this beautiful area. We too are disappointed that the shoulder season does mean that many of the eateries are closed, but the local tourism group continue to look into ways in which visitors can have a full experience for longer into the fall. We look forward to welcoming you back to Auld Farm Inn sometime in the future.
