This is a great place to get away from it all, and with its central location, to conduct great day trips around the island without overextending yourself.

The view is astounding, and given its location way up on the hillside, traffic noise is rarely bothersome, if ever.

We only stayed here for one night but could easily stay for a week if we were going to be in the Baddeck region that long. The only minor issues we had with our cottage (#7) were that it was too far from the main building for the wi-fi to work, the microwave oven started beeping randomly at 1:30 a.m. until we got up to unplug it, and the shower water pressure was really low. None of these issues were a big deal for us though. If they would be a big deal for you, just choose a different cottage.

Our four days spent in cottage 5 were so peaceful and pleasant. We loved the area and did some hiking in the woods behind the cottages and also right down across the road to the lakeside. Such a great location for touring around Cape Breton.
The cottage felt like a home away from home. Everything we needed was there and very well maintained. We cooked almost all our meals in the cabin and created some fine dining. Sydney provides excellent organic choices at the Atlantic Superstore, although we did enjoy shopping at the Baddeck Co-OP also.We appreciated the level of re-cycling that was available at the cabin.
Verna is a wonderful warm proprietor who takes interest in their guests.
We were 3 in the cabin, two of us from ON and one from BC and found it more than adequate for space and comfort.
We would definetly return and highly recomment McIntyre's Cottages! Many thanks from Rick, Betty & Steve

We started our Cape Breton vacation at McIntyre's Cottages, and love it. You won't find a better view, and they were very nice and accommodating.

As we pulled up to the house and walked in the door it was one of the few times that accomodations lived up to what the website represented.

We stayed in the Cameron House which is located up a hill behind the cottages. The house is very spacious, clean and well equiped including all kitchen utensils and a small outdoor gas grill. We found the nearby restaurants expensive and underwhelming and preferred to cook in. However, you may want to bring your own groceries as the local supplies are expensive and selection is limited (we couldn't find fresh fish or shellfish anywhere).

The cottages are located right on Route 105, but are far enough off the road that noise is not an issue.

If you need a comfortable base to explore the Cabot Trail McIntyre's is highly recommended.

Beautifully appointed cottage with view of Bras d'Or Lake. Felt like a real apartment with lovely interior and felt spacious. Very friendly, helpful staff. Loved the location.
