My husband and I did the half day guided tour, it was an amazing experience! Angelo, our tour guide was exceptional. He was extremely experienced and incredibly personable. The tour was very relaxing and a lot of fun. We saw a bald eagle and a beautiful water fall. Half way through the tour we stop at a island, and enjoyed a delicious piece of homemade banana bread. By the end of the tour Angelo was more like our friend than our tour guide. He is also a very talented musician, and after the tour we heard a sampling of his music. This tour is definitely worth it, you won't be disappointed. Thank you, Angelo for making this experience one of the highlights of our vacation!

My fiance and I took a half-day kayaking tour while visiting Cape Breton this summer. The tour guides were extremely qualified, had interesting stories to relate about the shoreline and the birds and animals in the area, and made kayakers of every skill level feel at ease. The waterfall we hiked up to at lunch time was beautiful, and gave us an opportunity to stretch our legs. I would advise those that go on this tour to make sure to eat something beforehand, because the light lunch is very light (a slice of bread and small cup of tea). That said, both were homemade and tasty.

We did the one day guided tour that included a nice lunch. The team at NRKT are a lot of fun and really try to make you feel at home. Angelo, the owner, is always on-site helps the guides get everyone fitted and in the water. We had Justin as a guide and you can tell he really enjoys his job and being out on the water in nature. I would say that if you have kayaking experience rent the kayaks yourself and go on out into St Annes Bay, if not the guided tour is a great option.

I stumbled upon North River Kayak Tours when I was visiting Cape Breton looking for a day of exploring outside and moving after 4 days of touring by car. As a newbie to kayaking, North River Kayak Tours turned out to be for me the perfect intro to sea-kayaking, or any kayaking for that matter. AJ, Justin and Rosie were welcoming, good-natured and knowledgeable. They had us going on our 3 hour tour with ease and confidence. The North River and St Ann's Bay are gorgeous, peaceful and uncluttered. I really appreciated the info AJ imparted on the wildlife in and out of the water, the history of the area and the workings of the waterways. Our group got a superb entertainment (and educational?) treat when Rosie fiddled (wow!) and AJ sang haunting Gaelic tunes for us during our tea-break on a beach of St Ann's Bay. It was a heavenly half-day adventure. Would do it again in a minute!

We enjoyed a wonderful morning with Justin. The location is very nice, and Justin was great to point out the birds and other interesting things on our way. The banana bread and tea was great and the waterfall at the lunch spot was a bonus. We saw a family of eagles several times.
