We spent three nights in the Library room and we were extremely comfortable. John is a great host and very knowledgeable about the area and its history. This property has a particular history of its own. A. Graham Bell spent much time in this house, making it an integral part of the local history. John's enthusiasm is contagious and made our stay very pleasurable. We would definately return in the future and recommend it to our family and friends.

We spent two nights at this property and throughly enjoyed every minute.
The host John Pino is a GREAT innkeeper, very knowledgeable about the area,
places to eat, see, enjoy and is very witty and entertaining. Our room was wonderful, a former local resident Alexander Graham Bell used the room for making many of his plans for his inventions and John is well informed about the Bell era.
We will definitley visit again.

Room Tip: The Library is big and comfortable.

We stayed 2 nights in a B&B room of the Broadwater Inn and Cottages at Baddeck, which also was the home of the McCurdy family - JAD McCurdy worked with AGBell on the Silver Dart airplane. We chose a room with deck looking over the lake which would have been lovely - unfortunately, it rained the whole time we were in Baddeck . Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was good - but be warned, it is always served at 8 am. The real charm of this inn is its history and its relation to the stories of Baddeck, and its owner, John who grew up in the area and who can tell you all the local lore. We had a particular historical interest, and he was quick to show us relevant books and photos and point us in the right direction. Others have commented that one is best to drive from the inn to the village.

We had a great 1 night stay in Baddeck at the Broadwater Inn. We originally thought we were booked in the main house, but upon arrival found that we were in one of the cabins. Just north of downtown and the Alexander Bell museum, the location has nice views over the lake, and is set back from the road providing a very quiet and relaxing environment. A wonderful breakfast is served at communal tables - offering guests a chance to interact and exchange travel stories and recommendations. The house itself has a great history - be sure to ask the staff to share.

had a lovely romantic stay in the garden shed! sounds a bit silly but it couldn't have been better. the place is a true getaway with not only a hot tub on your front step but the bras d'or lakes too! it's not too from from downtown beautiful baddeck and right next door to bell bay golf. thanks for making the reservation happen, john, it was greatly appreciated!

Room Tip: bring groceries/bbq food and make the most of your time at this place!

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival, even though we hadn't booked. John the innkeeper invited us to look at the cottages we asked about. We only needed 1 bedroom, but we're offered a 2 bedroom cottage for the same price. It was very nice and met all our needs. We also looked at a room named 'bay' in the house, which was stunning with stunning views and great history. We took the room, which also had its own private bathroom. Within the house was a comfy lounge area to use as well. We only stayed 1 night, but for a treat or if you are staying a little longer the room opposite the bay which I think is called the library is exquisite!

Breakfast was great, and it was good to talk to the other guests and swop stories. Coffee very good and frequently kept topped up. Fresh fruit was the best I have had, with lovely yoghurt and granola. Cereal was available, toast was very yummy, and so was the preserve! The homemade breakfast cake was good too, so was the ham and eggs! Couldn't fault breakfast, very good.

Fantastic stay one of the best within our 3 week trip and we have stayed in a lot of places, somewhere every night. Would love to return one day! Johns a great host and great to talk too.

You must go and stay! And the Alexander graham bell museum is worth a visit ( I don't normally do museums)
Ps John - we found marks wear house and got the dungarees . Thanks for a great stay

Room Tip: Discuss your need with innkeeper he's very helpful.

We loved the cabin we stayed in for a couple nights. Everything we needed was on hand, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. When the inn realized we were traveling with our dog, they were more than accommodating. We had ample space to walk him. The cottage had a beautiful deck with a great view of the water. We would definitely stay there again!
