A very pretty inn with many special touches. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. Desk staff very friendly and helpful. We left an item behind they were very accomodating in sending it to us promptly, The restaurant served great food at reasonable prices, with live entertainment. Great location!

The Lynwood Inn was a great find for us. We were traveling with my parents and two teenage sons. It is right in the heart of Baddeck, which is a beautiful small town at the starting point of the Cabot Trail. I found it to be well priced, and the food was EXCELLENT!. As far as the third floor without an elevator, it was one and a half flights up. My 80 year old mother and father made the “climb” both days we were there with little difficulty. Don’t pass this one up. Well worth the money.

The Lynwood Inn looks lovely. The decor is fresh and above 3-star quality. We booked two rooms, both on the main 1st level (not the ground floor) with two queen size beds each; one in the middle and the other an end unit. The end unit had a small balcony, the other did not. The Lynwood is in the heart of Baddeck (which is a small place) and walking distance to everything (liquor store and other restaurants).

That's about all I can say that's positive. For a new building, it is far too noisy. We could here the neighbours every time they went to the bathroom (in detail) and the outside doors slamming shook the whole building. Needless to say sleeping was an issue in both rooms.

One room had an iron and ironing board; the other a coffee maker - no idea why both didn't get each.

The cleaner(s) took some of our property. We complained and got nowhere. The management simply said that the she thought it was garbage and had thrown it out but from where it was in the room we find this very hard to believe. It would have cost them less than $10 to replace the items but they couldn't care less.

Their restaurant is medium quality/quantity and is expensive for what you get. We went when we first got there and never ventured back.

Overall it was a disappointment.

Lynwood Inn is well located in Baddeck but I would suggest staying at a B&B or cottage rather than this inn. It is overpriced for what you get. We were told the only room available was a "water view" suite when we booked months ago. Believing this to be the case (we learned that wasn't correct) we were placed in a top floor room (with no elevator) on a corner. We could indeed see a sliver of the Lake through the trees out the window in the room. To view the Lake from the balcony required standing on the corner of it and looking through the trees. For this we paid $140.00+ and no breakfast included. We never got to use the balcony as it rained. The room was relatively large with a nice sized bathroom but as another reviewer pointed out, hairs were on the floor, tub, sink and stand with the coffee maker. We must have had the same housekeeper! Be prepared to lug your luggage along walkways and then upstairs along non air conditioned halls if you stay here. There are some rooms on the main level and I would highly suggest these for convenience and to not be fooled by the "lake view" with an upper floor. We ate at the restaurant at the outdoor patio. The patio was lovely and the service and food very good.

The Lynwood Inn tries to evoke a Victorian feel with modern conveniences. Really it is a slightly upscale motel with reasonable rates.

The Lynwood is in a great location with downtown Baddeck an easy walk...across the street! The Co-op (groceries) and liquor store are all within a little stroll from the Lynwood.

A bargain compared to some other places in Baddeck if your only intent is to spend a few hours and get a good night sleep.

A well-located hotel in the picturesque town of Baddeck. We were in the main part of the Inn, unfortunately at the back with no view, but in a good room with free Internet access. The breakfasts were good, plentiful and hot. Try the crunchy French Toast. If you're in room three, watch your head if you're over 5’10” tall – the chandeliers are low!!

My husband and in-laws stayed at the Lynwood Inn during our beautiful stay at Cape Breton. We found this place to have a lot of character, it was very special and spacious. The rooms were very clean and the hotel had been recently upgraded which was very nice. The owner helped us with check-in and with getting acquainted with Baddeck and Cape Breton overall. He was very welcoming, knowledgeable and proud of his hotel. We are very happy we stayed here and hope to be back some day. Cape Breton is a very special place.
