we were told about this walk at breakfast, it is excellent for a drizzily day as most of the walk is under a leafy canopy, the autumn colors were stunning

If your in the Baddeck area and like to do a bit of hiking, make sure you don't miss out on doing this one. The trail is easy to walk and ends up at a very scenic waterfall. The path to the falls takes you along a stream through the woods and is very scenic as well. The hike itself is not that difficult but you will probably want to give yourself at least a couple of hours so you can spend some time at the water (or in it). Check in at the information center in Baddeck before going as they will give you directions and let you know if you can get to the falls. When we were there the bridge was closed but they let us know that people were still using it but only one person at a time (you did have to climb over the boards). Because they hadn't had much rain at the time another option was to just cross the water under the bridge as it wasn't very deep. We thought it was a very pretty hike and well worth doing.

The trail was peaceful and offered many photo opportunities. The falls themselves were spectatular and the surrounding area was breathtaking.

It is just out of town and well worth it. The day we went, there was a detour but Cape Bretoners are very friendly, helpful people and we found the falls easily. It is a 2 km hike, not strenuous, to the falls on paths that are fairly easy to follow. After a light rain the night before, the falls were full and well-worth the hike in. They were higher than I expected, about 50 ft. I'm told, with an interesting cascade pattern. Not Niagara but....

The hike goes along the river to the falls which are impressive, but not that spectacular. We were there after some heavy rain, so the trail was extremely muddy and sometimes completely flooded. Bring good shoes along if it rained before.
