“Tucked away in an enchanted grotto”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

Or atleast thats how it seemed to me, when I arrived very early in the morning. The first person there I had the area to myself and can only describe it as simply beautiful and very serene. The bridge just before the falls has been declared unsafe as of May 2012, but carefully crossing the river rocks is not difficult for the spry and cautious.

“Enjoyable hiking Trail”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

This was an enjoyable hiking trail. It's fairly easy to navigate. The waterfall at the end was delightful. There are several bridges to cross. The final one to the falls was out -- we needed to navigate the rocks/banks across the river....... but it was worth the experience.

“Worth the walk”
Reviewed June 26, 2012

Once we found the right trail (through the trees!), it was a pretty walk of about 10-15 minutes to see the falls. The guide in the carpark said the bridge the falls was closed, but we didn't have a problem with access on the day we went. Pretty falls, although a little difficult to see on the day we visited as not too much water. Saw some younger people climing alot higher to get closer, but we didn't think it was safe to do this.

“Worth the trip”

A nice hike through the woods. The bridge is closed but it is an easy scramble down to the stream to cross there and this little challenge gives an increased sence of triumph on reaching the falls.

“Beautiful Hike!”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

3 of us went, with a backpack filled with water, snacks and food. It definitely only takes 20-30 minutes to walk to, and that's at a fairly casual pace. We did not do the hike around the river, but have been told it is highly recommended. There are a few "steep" inclines on the trail, and currently, the bridge is closed. They said it was unstable, but we crossed over it anyways and it was quite stable! It is also very shallow with lots of big rocks, so if you have good balance, you can cross via the rocks, which we did for fun on our way back. It would be nice to get up higher and see more of the falls, but we will definitely be going back and this time, with our really good camera! There are a few benches along the way, the path is fairly clear aside from some stones and tree roots. About 3/4 of your way to the waterfall, there are giant boulders which trees have wrapped their roots around and continued to grow upwards - absolutely beautiful and nothing I've ever seen before! A must-do hike!!
