We spent three days in Trinity and enjoyed every moment of it. Our stay at Maidment House Bed & Breakfast which is one of the heritage buildings was five star. Karen was a wonderful hostess. She was helpful, informative and created gourmet breakfasts. The home was decorated with extreme taste and high quality. From the beautiful paintings to the quilts on the beds. Karen has tried to make sure every extra touch has been included.

Trinity is a popular destination but has limited accommodations. We were happy to find the Maidment B & B. It is a lovely old house, not fancy, but clean and comfortable. We felt like houseguests visiting friends. The room was large with a view of the garden and the bathroom was more than adequate. Our hostess was friendly and helpful, willing to take time to chat with us. She also made two excellent breakfasts. The French toast was so terrific that I had to copy the recipe. I would definitely recommend this place!

In planning our trip to Newfoundland and determining that Trinity Bight area was a top destination, we struggled to put two nights together in this area. It was both the Canada Day and Independence Day weekend and a justifiably popular place. I finally reworked our schedule and found a great room with its own ensuite bathroom at the Maidment. Our hostess and owner, Karen was wonderful. She and her husband Eric had renovated one of the many historic homes/buildings in Trinity and it is perfect in every detail. With two year old Benjamin they live a few doors down and each morning and evening she is there to greet new guests and prepare wonderful breakfasts. We can't say enough about Karen and our experiences in Trinity. We will be back!

Room Tip: One of the three rooms had two single beds and their bathroom is just next door. It is very comfort...

My boyfriend and I spent the week touring the east coast of Newfoundland (including a brief trip to France on the way - St. Pierre et Miquelon), and ended with two days in Trinity and the Bonavista Peninsula. We were so lucky to book two nights at the Maidment, without any prior information and it was without question the loveliest stay during our trip. Our room was large, charmingly decorated and with a bed my boyfriend declared to be the most comfortable of the week! And Karen went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of - calling restaurants to make sure we could still get in (its a shock for New Yorkers to end up places where there aren't all-night dining options!), offering hiking and activity advice, and lending us binoculars. She also cooks an absolutely incredible breakfast which we were lucky to enjoy twice. If we were to do our trip over again, we'd definitely spend more time at Trinity in general and the Maidment in particular!

While touring the ports of Newfoundland in June 2013 my wife and I stumbled upon Trinity and Maidment House. Both were a pleasant surprise. We had the room at the top of the stairs with a queen bed and ensuite. Everything was excellent. Breakfast was prepared by Karen (our informative hostess) and proved to be very good. Would we return to Trinity.....definitely, would we stay at Maidment House....for sure. The availability of tea, coffee, and light snacks in the evening would be a nice touch. The nightly rate was a wee bit more than comparable B&Bs we stayed in during our time on the rock.

My partner and I (both young graduate students) had a wonderful stay at Maidment house. We arrived late (and unexpectedly) after some bad weather forced us to cut our drive to St. John's short, and our host Karen went out of her way to ensure that we were comfortable (right down to calling the local restaurant to stay open late for us so we could get something to eat!). The heritage B&B was beautiful, with lovely touches (homemade soaps, stacks of books to browse through), and Karen is an incredible cook! After a week long hiking trip in the backcountry, our short stay here was the perfect treat! The town was beautiful, and Karen was very knowledgeable about what to do and see in the area - we just wish we had more time to explore!

A very welcoming place ... Karen was a lovely host, not to mention a cook. Breakfast, taken around a common table, was a pleasure. The food was excellent and the company around the table was amazing. People from across Canada and around the world. The B&B is located in more or less the centre of Trinity. I have a lung disease and cannot walk long distances, but Maidment was an ideal location for walking around the town. There was no TV in the rooms, but there was in the living room (the Olympics). Just a pleasure to spend a couple of days there.

Room Tip: There was no swimming pool or fitness centre! In a B&B??
