Gros Morne RV/Campground & Restaurant

Really good RV park! Right on the edge of the town, and right off the main highway. Very convenient. Great sites! VERY clean and a laundromat! Very helpful owner!

Recommended that you see "Anchor's Away"... which runs monday, wednesday and Fridays every week during the summer. HILARIOUS musical humour. FABULOUS talent!!! A real local treasure! About 2km from the trailer park.

Park is REALLY well set up for caravans! The owner thought this out, VERY well!

My family stayed here in summer 2013, we were beyond happy with our stay. First I would like to point out that the owners were so friendly and helpful and accommodated our ever need. We really enjoyed the cookhouse on a rainy day which had a large woodstove, tables and much seating. I for one was very impressed by the womens washrooms and shower facilities it exceeded my expectations, we travel alot and to walk into such a clean, clean place was a joy. The grounds are well takin care of and the place makes you feel at ease. After a long day touring the park I was happy to know that after 11pm it was quiet time, I mean we could still sit around our fire and unwind but had no worries of loud parties and knew a good nights sleep awaited. We would recommend this place and yes we will be returning soon. Kind regards...

This campground was nice and clean. Small sites, mostly open and no fire pits only in a few private sites. It's a tourist site...felt like Newfoundlanders weren't welcomed. If you have an out of province license plate you might be ok. Owner and wife wasn't the friendliest and I should have known when I spoke with them on the phone to book a site. Owner came to our site at 9:30 and told us to keep the noise down. Meanwhile family was just sitting around the picnic table and my husband and myself were putting our 2 and 4 year old to sleep. Shortly after I went to sleep myself and woke around 11:30 to find out that the own came back and told our family that they were talking to loud. Lol. Ok but the worst part was he called the police. That was enough for me. Only for the kids I would have packed up and left right then. Next day we spoke with the owner and he pretty much said its for tourists. Again I thought he was rude. We left two days early and said never again. I won't recommend this place. But I would suggest going a little further to Portland creek..mountain waters. Totally different atmosphere.

We stayed for 3 nights and found it was a very clean campground. We had one of the private fire pit sites and would definitely recommend that type of site. The majority of sites are overflow type (everyone in the one area). The only draw back would be no pond for the kids to swim but we made several trips to the Rocky Harbour pool which seemed to satisfy everyone. The pool is just 5 mintues from the park. We would definitely go back to the park in the future.

We arrived at the campground early in the day, to ensure we would have a good pick of sites. Upon arrival we toured the campground and although it did not really meet our expectations, we decided it would be all right for the two nights we would be in the area. When we went to the office, the receptionist informed us of the sites that were available, but told us we could not have any of the "larger" sites, as they liked to keep thoses for bigger units. We were not very happy about that but we said ok and picked a site. It was allright (but tight, as we have a Westfalia and a cooking shelter) so we went back to pay for it and the receptionist said we could not have that one either! Instead she said her boss had informed her we had to take one of the smaller sites on the inside! We informed her it was impossible for us to fit in to one of the inside sites, and she said we could either take it or leave! The other sites were not reserved, we just were not "big" enough for them! We left and got a cabin at Gros Morne Cabins, which was absolutely incredible, with kind staff, great views, and beautiful cabins. I would never recomend gros Morne campground to anyone. They were unbelievably rude and inconsiderate and the campground itself is lacking in space and amenities.
