In addition to telling us the history of the lighthouse Bonnie Lou entertained us with songs and stories while we waited for the rain to stop.

Located about a 5 minute drive from Rocky Harbour, this lighthouse has very interesting displays and pictures about the history of maritime Newfoundland. There is one room set up
like a light housekeeper's home. It is not possible to see the front of the lighthouse. You need
the park pass for admission.

The lighthouse has some nice exhibits to teach about the history inside, and there are numerous short trails to explore the coast surrounding the lighthouse that are pretty easy to walk, even in the rain! Worth stopping by if you have the time.

A quick side trip and bathroom break, the lighthouse site has some great view points and the lighthouse is full of information about fishing and history, enough to keep ypu busy browing for 10-15 minutes in interest.

Make sure to stop by the lighthouse while in the park. The views from the various paths near the lighthouse are outstanding, although it appears that you are no longer supposed to take the paths all the way down to the beach (paths were blocked at certain points).

The lighthouse is very attractive on the outside and makes for great photos.

We really enjoyed the interpretive displays inside the lighthouse, which highlighted the history of the area. Interesting written information and many of objects to look at, even a small, wooden, Joey Smallwood doll.

The park attendant was very friendly and willing to answer questions. The day we arrived, he stayed late as people continued to arrive well past the closing time, which we thought was quite generous of him.
