“Nice...”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

The two buildings are quite new and are very nicely furnished and finished. At the time of our stay, we found that the two-bedroom suite was not adequately equipped for four adults. However the owner has promised to act on our suggestions of more towel racks and some shelves in the spacious bathroom; coat hooks, mirrors and a stool or chair in each bedroom and more comfortable seating in the living area. Although the use of energy-saving fluorescent lighting is commendable some areas needed better lighting so the owner has offered to provide more lamps. As the owners very quickly responded to our request for an additional chair and extra towels, I am basing this review on the assumption that they will also follow through on their offer to make the above improvements. The units are located almost at the end of the road in Rocky Harbour so are very quiet and peaceful, are within walking distance of a fresh fish market (put in your request for lobster the day before!) and within a short walk to a viewpoint overlooking the bays (very nice at sunset). Laundry facilities are located in one of the buildings, are clean and reasonably priced. Internet service was very good.

We spent two nights in Suite #5 in June. The suite was one bedroom, with a full bathroom and kitchen, as well as a sitting area. The inside had been recently updated and was clean and attractive. There was a very comfortable king-size bed, and the kitchen had a full-size fridge and oven/stove-top. There were dishes, cutlery, basic cooking utensils, pots pans, etc. in the kitchen - enough to make your own meals. There are two buildings with stacked suites on this property - we were in the building closest to the ocean, on the ground floor and it had a great view of the water. There was a couple staying in the suite above us and we could hear them walk around, but it did not bother us at all. The location is central in Gros Morne and we found it to be a very convenient base for exploring the park. Additionally, when we were planning our trip the owners sent an email with a list of things to do in the area, which was appreciated.

Fantastic choice if you're want a "self service cottage" as your base for exploring Gros Morne National Park and the west cost of Newfoundland.

Stylish, clean, new, fresh, and a great value. Two-bedroom "apartment" with a full eat-in kitchen and living room. Deck or balcony overlooking the ocean. Short walk to the town centre.

Helpful and honest owners / hosts.

Definitely recommend.

These very new flats and stacked (2 up and 2 down) at the edge of Rocky Harbour. From our deck we could watch the sunset while we shared some Iceberg Beer. The flat had 2 good sized bedrooms, huge bathroom, full eat-in kitchen and a living room with TV (from which we watched the Olympics late at night). The check in and out were easy. This is a great spot to use as your base for several days of hiking without being in the middle of nowhere. It is within walking distance of Earl's where you can go for a great meal, even a lobster dinner.

Room Tip: Ask for the 2nd floor or the rooms facing the water.

We stayed 2 nights in a 2 bedroom suite at Gros Morne Suites. Our suite was very clean, modern and spacious....the bathroom was huge. We had the end unit so we had an unobstructed view of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. ...the view was spectacular. On our first night we enjoyed watching the clouds and a storm make its way to shore. The sunset on the second night was breathtaking. We really enjoyed leaving our bedroom windows open at night so we could hear the waves lapping on the beach.

It is clear that the owners take great pride in their property and thier business....and they provide excellent customer service. In particular, the owners provided advice on what to see while in Gros Morne when we were planning our trip. Furthermore, when we checked-in the staff were very courteous and professional.

The property is close to everything....Rocky Harbour is not very big. However, one bonus is the property is very close to a bakery that has the best baked goods in Newfoundland.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We would stay here again.

This wonderful establishment is a little slice of paradise located amidst some of God's most beautiful natural surroundings. We spent 2 nights in a suite that was obviuously built and designed with love. Jen and her husband are filled with pride in not only their Suites (and Taxidermy Museum,) but in the entire area of Western Neewfoundland. Our accommodation was a 2 bedroom suite that was beautifully furnished and maintained. Everything was clean, comfortable, and convenient. The view of the Bay, especially at sunset, was spectacular. It was the highlight of a stay in Rocky Harbor that was filled with beautiful sights. We would have loved to have been able to extend our stay.

A complete contrast from the basic cabins in the middle of nowhere, which are the mainstay of self-catering accommodation in this area, his new development provides a small number of stylish, well-equipped appartments on the edge of Rocky Harbour, overlooking the bay. The centre of the town, which has a handful of shops and restaurants, and so constitutes the comercial hub of the Gros Morne area, is about a mile away. This is also where the very helpful staff who look after the development are located. Sitting on the deck of our appartment watching the sun set behind the lighthouse was magical. We were only staying one night but wished we could have made it more.
