We had a wonderful time on our trip. We went in July, but Newfoundland is cold every month of the year. Be sure to bring a spring jacket and excellent rain gear.

Gros Morne is an absolutely beautiful place, with so much to do and see. My advise may be of most use to those camping, particularly with younger children.

We camped for 4 nights at Berry Hill with two young children. It was perfect! No bugs (wow!), private treelined campsites and a great playground steps away. It is in the centre of the park so the perfect place to camp if you only have a couple of day to explore the park. Along the roads throughout the campground are wild strawberry plants (hence the name). What fun to wonder and simply pick berries... Park staff were extremely helpful in helping us decide where to go and what to expect (it was our first time camping with little ones).

Just driving the park is breath taking, but the highlights (beyond camping) were:

1. West Brook Pond hike and boat ride. As said my many spectacular views and worth the money.

2. Table Lands walk. Didn't make the ranger tour, but went by the Discovery Centre (worth visiting as well) and borrowed for free the guided GPS tour. Worth getting as there is much to learn and see that you would never realise without a "real" or virtual expert.

3. Coastal hike at Green Point. Beautiful walk along the ocean, with flat terrain, diverse habitats and amazing ocean views.

There was so much more we would have loved to have seen and done (including playing in the sandy beaches to the north and the Green Garden's hike to the south). For another visit...
