This Hike has to rank high in 5.5k hikes. A hike that travels along the rugged coast, through forests and at the beach, this is a highlight that one should experience while in Newfoundland.

the views were spectacular! the trail was listed moderate to difficult but we made it. There were only a few places that were a bit challenging. 5 km. and most was along the beautiful cliffs looking out on the ocean. the rest was a mix of meadows, woodland and bogs. You got everything .

We hiked the Skerwink Trail on a cloudy day with rain falling during the back half, and it was still wonderful.

The few climbs when walking in a clockwise direction do not seem very difficult as they a spread out. The scenery on this trail is spectacular and varied. Reportedly this trail can be hiked in one hour but we took two and one-half hours, stopping at every bench and scenic outlook to appreciate what we were seeing. Take your time and you will not find this a difficult hike.

This trail is exceptionally well maintained and marked. Anyone of moderate fitness can enjoy the hike as it is relatively level and where there is an uphill there are stairs. Benches are placed along the trail for breaks to absorb the gorgeous sea views. highly recommended.
