“A great meeting facility”
Reviewed March 12, 2012

I recently had lunch at Reuben’s while attending a meeting in Napoleon. Fortunately for me, it was Friday since Friday lunch special features a German buffet. While the variety of German food was not extensive, it did include knoephla and sauerkraut. Their soup of the day was knoephla soup. I must say their knoephla soup was wonderful! It was just the right consistency of creaminess and had great flavor.

The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and very spacious. It’s the perfect place to have a meeting. Equipment is available in the banquet room and easy to use.

“A True Community Cafe”
Reviewed July 14, 2011

We stopped in for breakfast and were well served. The breakfast menu is not extensive, but Reuben's has a good selection of omelet options and a build-your-own-plate list of other items. We had the breakfast-sausage burgers. This is an exceedingly pleasant small-town cafe, well appointed, and a true community institution. It was built through the generous bequest of Reuben and Helen Wentz, successful local farmers and business people, and is managed by a community development board. (That's why it says "Helen's Kitchen" over the door to the kitchen and "Reuben's Den" over the door to the little meeting room.) Community cafes, whereby local citizens unite in cooperation to keep a service alive, are common institutions in small towns on the prairies. Get a table on the north wall, looking out on Main Street and a grain elevator skyline, and you can watch the town while you eat.
