Description: We focus on organic , fresh and local cuisine.. nothing processed. We have vegetarian choices like butternut squash , sweet potato with fresh ginger, roasted root vegetable, wild mushroom and others, salad made with arugula and kale, stir fry's, pastas, etc. We serve everything from local (mussels ,snow crab, lobster, cod fish, scallops, shrimp, halibut, mackerel, capelin, calamari, etc) .Local lamb, Fresh chicken with bone in and skin on., grade A tenderloin beef, pork and so many more choices. We use the local berries that ground in the area for the desserts. We only open from Late May until Mid September because that is when the food we serve is Fresh and available. We prefer not to open after later because it would compromise the quality of what we are trying to achieve and prefer not to serve over process chemically altered food.

“Great surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2014

After a week of just average meals in Labrador, we were looking forward to something more 'upscale' in northern Newfoundland. We found it at the Norseman. The menu was varied enough with lots of fresh seafood to satisfy all tastes. The lobster dish was probably the best we have ever eaten, beautifully presented, fresh and sweet. Having a slice of iceberg ice in my martini was great for future cocktail party chatter. The area is definitely worth the trip to this rather remote part of the island and the Norseman will surprise and delight you.

“The finest dining in the area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2014 via mobile

This was a really nice restaurant, beautiful view, and menu that offered fresh local food and produce with options besides deep fried food. We don't eat meat or shellfish, but still had a choice of 4 mains and lots of salad, soup, and other appetizers. Service was good, and like everywhere else in Newfoundland, servers were very friendly and personable.

“A gem at the end of the world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2014

What a delight to find such a fine restaurant in such an out of the way place.
The seafood tasted like it had been swimming in the ocean that morning ! The vegetables and dessert were equally delicious.
Great quality....pricey for the area but a bargain by city standards.

“By far the best food we have had in Newfoundland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2014 via mobile

We had dinner at the Norseman as part of a tour through rural Newfoundland. Although we have enjoyed all of the local dishes along the way we had pretty much decided that "fine dining" was not part of the rural Newfoundland experience until we arrived at the Norseman. The partridgeberry iceberg vodka martini was not only very good but also beautiful. We had a preplanned menu with limited choices, but we both chose the atlantic salmon. The meal started with a wonderfully fresh spinach, beet and orange salad and nice grainy bread. The partidgeberry desert was a perfect ending. Since this meal was included in our tour I can't comment on value, but I know I would have been happy to pay a decent price for this exceptional meal. Oh, and you really can't beat the view!
