Thank you Thelma for such warm hospitality. We felt like family within minutes.

Beautiful rooms, stunning views, and delicious meals. Pay the extra and enjoy Thelma's down-home delicious dinner - a bargain!

Viking Village is like a hybrid of a small, luxury boutique hotel and a B&B. Huge, homey and comfortable common living room and dinning room. Beautiful and comfortable rooms with ensuite baths. A fantastic value. Waking up to see icebergs floating by in the ocean - priceless!

We were in the Vineland room and appreciated the unique decor and patio door and view. Nice ensuite. We selected this B & B because of the proximity to L'Anse aux Meadows, but especially liked it for the experience and Thelma's hospitality. Nearest restaurant, Northern Delight, is 5 km away and offered a lovely local crab dinner. The 2nd night, Thelma prepared a moose dinner - which we and the other guests thoroughly enjoyed. It was like a lovely moist, slow cooked beef roast with lots of vegies and dessert - good deal too.

We stayed in the Greenland Room for one night in July. This room was located at the end of the building. The room was clean and spacious. It had a queen bed and private ensuite bathroom. The room had a private balcony with a sliding door that faced the water. There was also a large side window which made the room nice and bright. The breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast, homemade jam, cereal, juice, and coffee was very good. You were also welcome to have tea and cookies anytime during your stay. The bakeapple jam was so delicious that I bought two jars to take back home with me.

We highly recommend staying at the Viking Village Bed and Breakfast. Thelma is a wonderful host! The room we had was clean and spacious with a walk out deck. The ensuite was very sufficient. Book ahead to get a room with a view of the bay!The living area is very welcoming and we enjoyed sharing stories with other guests. A supper was offered at a very reasonable price and we were so glad we chose to eat there...delicious, homemade meal with all the trimmings! Breakfast was great too. Thanks Thelma, Madge and Dot! It is very central to the sights on the northern tip of the island.

We chose this b and b because it is very close to the L'anse aux meadows national historical site. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our room, it was called "Iceland". The host informed us about our breakfast choices for the morning. She also informed us that the water was safe to drink but there was a water cooler available in the kitchen. The rooms were clean and comfortable and our room opened on to the large patio at the back with a spectacular view. There is also a washing machine and dryer available from 8:30am-10:00pm for visitor use. Breakfast was fantastic!! We were here two nights and one night we had a fantastic moose dinner.

We traveled here in early August, too late for icebergs, but right on time for lovely weather. This b&b is central to much of this area, but is in a quiet area with lovely scenery. The breakfasts aren't fancy, but they are tasty, featuring home-made bread and jams. For a small extra fee, you can request a moose pot roast dinner, which I heartily recommend you do. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. There is a light, airy common room where you can meet and talk with fellow travelers. Locally made crafts and jams are for sale. Thelma, Madge, and Dot do the cooking and cleaning. Thelma also runs the Viking Nest nearby. Highly recommended.
