Had supper while staying at the Inn, delicious food, great service and very good value. Good wine selection and reasonable prices there too.

“Ok, but not wonderful and not much choice.”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

The premises looked a little run-down as we approached , and the inside was certainly "period" though not as nicely done as the B&B we'd left to go there. We were faced with a set menu with little choice in a not very well-occupied dining room. Only saw one person (our server) when there. Flavour of "Marie Celeste". Would not return.

“Cozy dining, good food and service”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

This Dining room is part of the B&B, it is a lovely old heritage home. The food was excellent. We had the pork tenderloin with home made rhubarb chutney. What a great combination.

“Very fine dining experience”
Reviewed June 28, 2012

A group of women friends went to lunch at Sophia's where we had a wonderful dining experience. The small dining room is charming. The service was attentive and Newfoundland-friendly. The food was expertly prepared, using quality fresh ingredients. The fish cakes were full of mild flavoured flsh, not packed with potatoes, so they were light and delicious. The mixed salad was full of oranges, cranberries and the wonderful crunch of candied almonds. The desserts were too good to be true - home-made flaky pastry using seasonal berries, and the bread pudding had a Newfoundland twist - Screech sauce instead of bourban. No one had not a bad word to say about their selections. My only quibble is the wine is way over-priced ($8/glass) but that is typical in other Newfoundland fine dining establishments. We were also lucky enough to be given a tour of the 4 bedrooms which are absolutely delightful and romantic. Certainly a restaurant to go back to for a special evening.
