My Husband and I stayed at this beautiful Inn in August of this past year (08). We were driving on the highway that took you along the ocean, and came across this newly restored building that is located directly on the harbour- literally! There are wharves and docks surrounding the building, as well as many boats and vessels- (a WONDERFUL picture to be taken, especially at sunset). We ate the restaurant ( Skipper's) which serves the best Cod we've ever tasted, and how could we forget the Thundering Flats and Alice's Baked Beans! You have to try their traditional foods offered on the menu. Newfoundland Pea Soup was also a brilliant choice we made for an appetizer- very tasty!!
You must also get the Suite if your budget allows on your trip. It calls for about 200.00 a night (this was their most expensive room). We readily enjoyed the jacuzzi, as well as watching the sun set across the horizon, projecting colors of pinks, oranges, purples and blues in all directions. From watching this as we swung in our hand made rocking chairs, we thought we were in heaven! ( I think their cheapest room was around 110.00, but we wanted the jacuzzi!) Also, our room was the cleanest I have ever seen..and I mean CLEAN! The full hotel was the same- emaculate!
The staff there are also extremely friendly, and so eager to answer any of your questions.
We recommend this hotel to EVERYONE!
We will be back!
Thanks so much.
