Owner description: The ultimate Bay of Fundy eco-adventure. Drive the paved parkway that hugs the coastal cliffs. Lace up your hiking boots and hop on your mountain bike and explore the trails. These connect to paths and stairways which lead to pristine beaches and tumbling waterfalls, Precambrian rocks, 250m cliffs that tower at the water's edge. If that doesn't take your breath away, just check out the view - the spectacular, stunning Bay of Fundy. The trail has been carved out of the Fundy Escarpment, one of the last remaining coastal wilderness areas between Florida and Labrador. Most of the elements of the Fundy ecosystem exist within this area including the dramatic Fundy tides. At the Interpretive Centre you'll find original artifacts and old photos from a bygone era, when logging, fishing and shipbuilding were an economic mainstay of this region. Guided tours to Hearst Lodge and Great Day Experiences for the family or groups are available. The Interpretive Centre also provides a snack bar, restroom facilities and a small retail outlet. Above the Centre, there is a suspension bridge across the sparkling waters of the Big Salmon River and the beginning of the wilderness Fundy Footpath.

“Great scenery”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

We spent several hours driving the Fundy Trail Parkway, and stopping at several scenic lookouts. We took a few short walks from parking areas. There are many picnic tables spread along the parkway. If you want to do some serious hiking, there are ample trails to choose from. I recommend stopping at the Interpretive Centre to view a brief film. It will be wonderful when this parkway is completed and connect with Fundy National Park (schedule for completion in 2017?). They've done a wonderful job with the part that's been completed thus far. My only recommendation might be that it would be helpful to have more information at each parking area and trail head indicating distances between different points.

“Beautiful park”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

The Fundy Trail is a wonderful multi-use park. You can drive, walk, or bike through outstanding natural beauty. It offers a unique view of this spectacular region and is not redundant with other Fundy parks Each of the overlooks has something different to offer and most have provisions for picnics. The visitors center is good. The staff can provide additional maps and information about the region. The movie at the center talks about the creation of the park (still ongoing) and the history of the region. I wish they had also talked about the tidal changes and their curses. Overall, this was a very positive experience and well worth the visit.

“Rain, fog, shine - MUST DO.”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

I almost skipped this attraction because I woke up to a rain storm and lots of fog. I went anyways and so glad I did. The fog made for some really cool pictures. Absolutely stunning and loved that there were so many different stops along the trail to stop and take pictures, lots of restrooms, lots of hiking trails. Be sure to stop and do the suspension bridge.
