Owner description: The ultimate Bay of Fundy eco-adventure. Drive the paved parkway that hugs the coastal cliffs. Lace up your hiking boots and hop on your mountain bike and explore the trails. These connect to paths and stairways which lead to pristine beaches and tumbling waterfalls, Precambrian rocks, 250m cliffs that tower at the water's edge. If that doesn't take your breath away, just check out the view - the spectacular, stunning Bay of Fundy. The trail has been carved out of the Fundy Escarpment, one of the last remaining coastal wilderness areas between Florida and Labrador. Most of the elements of the Fundy ecosystem exist within this area including the dramatic Fundy tides. At the Interpretive Centre you'll find original artifacts and old photos from a bygone era, when logging, fishing and shipbuilding were an economic mainstay of this region. Guided tours to Hearst Lodge and Great Day Experiences for the family or groups are available. The Interpretive Centre also provides a snack bar, restroom facilities and a small retail outlet. Above the Centre, there is a suspension bridge across the sparkling waters of the Big Salmon River and the beginning of the wilderness Fundy Footpath.

“Great one or two days of hiking about or half a day of driving and walking.”

Some really nice vistas and views; it helps to bring a map as some of the trailheads are well marked as to distance and time while others are not. Don't count too much on the shuttle bus as it runs from noon until 6 at about 45 minute intervals. The view of Nova Scotia from across the bay was quite nice and the beaches really interested me.

“Beautiful once the fog burned off!”

This is a gorgeous part of New Brunswick and we wish we had longer to spend there than just one day (cruise ship stop). As mentioned previously, there are many wonderful overlooks and sights to see. A walk down to Flower Pot Rock is a must. The Visitor Center has an interesting 10 minute film on the history of the area that shouldn't be missed. Nice restrooms there too!

We were so glad we took Roy's Tours up here from Saint John. Passengers who stayed near Saint John never saw the sun or the lovely coastline.

We definitely need to come back and spend more time at this park. So many trails and sights to see.

“Meant to be taken it over a long period of time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2011

This is a spectacular piece of New Brunswick, meant to be enjoyed by walking every gorgeous inch. I've walked this trail from the beginning of the gate to distances in excess of 30 km several times, every time finding something new and wonderful. When we went there last year, we were quite strapped on cash and were $2.75 cents short of admission, one of the park employees paid from her own pocket to let us into the park. The service is above and beyond your expectations and the value is unarguably five-star. I recommend anyone travelling through to visit this park.
