“Nice B&B in St Martins”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

Rented the twin bedded Carson room recently. The room and premises were very clean, if a bit small, but more than comfortable and fresh and had a shower bathroom. The room had a quiet ceiling fan to keep it cool. The breakfast is excellent and the owners are very friendly. You can walk to the waterfront beach in 1 minute. We also enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Fioris restaurant which is within the B&B home. It is about 15 minute drive to the Fundy Park trails and 5 minutes to the sea caves.

First time travelers staying at a B&B, which ended up being the Salmon River B&B. Rented a room called Baywatch on the 3rd floor which was spacious with ensuite bath, shower. The leisure room was nicely decorated and located on the 3rd floor with a view of the Bay of Fundy. Access to the shore was a minute walk from your room. Mike and Bard welcome you with open arms so you feel right at home. The food that Mike and Barb cook up is great and again their hospitality was wonderful. Defiantly this will be a place we'd stay at again and recommend it to others. Thanks to Barb & Mike

We stayed for 1 night. The room was clean, if a bit small, with an ensuite We paid $110. The B&B had a restaurant and we had a pleasant meal on the veranda. It is very close to the beach and we went for an enjoyable walk after dinner. The owners were friendly and helpful. For breakfast you could choose off their restaurant menu. We had blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, juice and bottomless coffee. Very enjoyable.

Room Tip: Choose downstairs if you have heavy bags.

The lovely owners of Salmon River B&B run a restaurant (Fiori’s; I recommend it!) under the same roof. Both the restaurant and one of the rooms of the B&B are wheelchair accessible: that is what initially drew us to this place, for my husband and I are both in wheelchairs. But did we ever get more than just a room with grab bars and a raised toilet (and an accessible bathroom in the restaurant, too)! Mike and Barb are great hosts, cooks, and people. I wish we could have stayed for more than two nights just to enjoy their company more! A gem right on the Bay of Fundy within easy reach of Saint John and the Fundy trail.

On a separate note: a word of caution. If you come out of the direction of Sussex on Route 111, stay on that road until you’re in the village and then turn left onto another (paved, that is) road. If your GPS tells you to turn left long before that onto a dirt road, IGNORE IT, unless you want to do some SERIOUS off-roading (our car was in need of repairs afterwards).

This was our second stay here and won't be our last. Barb and Mike are extremely gracious and friendly hosts. They go the extra mile to ensure your stay is memorable. Our room was perfect and the breakfasts were exceptional. Anyone who chooses to stay here won't be disappointed.

This is a vacation spot dreams are made of - nearby excursions - Fundy Trail and Funday National Park, excellent food and accommodations in a memorable setting. Barb & Mike are first class all the way.

Room Tip: The B. Harmon room has a special treat, but all rooms are large, airy and comfortable.

Transplants from the states have set up a beautiful BB. We chose Salmon River because of the reviews and were not disappointed. The jetted tub was great after a day of hiking along the Fundy Bay. The tides are a must see.
