“Rest and Relaxation”
Reviewed June 16, 2012

My husband and I loved our time at the Salmon River B&B. We were seeking rest and relaxation and found it in the Harmon room, with a delightfully comfortable king size bed and the air tub in our private bathroom. We were only a moment's walk from the beach, and only ten minutes walk from the caves. My husband was also thrilled to discover that he could watch game 2 of the Miami/Thunder series on the TV in our room.

Our host and hostess were easy and sweet, and shared the history of the B&B and St. Martins with us over breakfast.

Room Tip: The Harmon room is the only one with the air-tub, but it does not have a view of the water. We didn...

This B&B was very highly rated on Tripadvisor, cementing our reservation. The owners were lovely, but we felt that the accommodations were average. There is a large hole in the ceiling over the stairway on the second floor. We were on the top floor and the bed is placed under a sloping wall, and there is no head room. There were no bedside lamps. The bathroom was lovely, but no hair dryer included.
These things are fixable, just be forewarned.

Thanks you for your review. The hole in the ceiling in the hallway was caused by a heavy down pour and there was a leak in the roof which caused a portion of the drywall to be removed. We are in the process of getting that fixed.
We have hair dryers for our guests if they are requested.
The suggestion about the lights on the bed tables is a good one. Because of the slope in the ceiling it will be difficult to find the right light for that location. But we certainly are going to try to find the proper size to fit the location.
We are always open to suggestions from our guests which will help us make a better experience for the next customer.

The Salmon River B & B, in St. Martin's, is charming and delightful. It is in a perfect location near the Bay of Fundy. The room we stayed in, the Mildred Brown, was clean and very compfortable. Mike and Barb are wonderful host - very knowledgeable of the area, friendly and interesting. They also have a restaurant in the B & B and one night I had a Mexican dish that was truly fantastic - "I can't believe I ate the whole thing". Breakfast is off the menu, with many choices, including Mike's breakfast Mexican dishes. I would highly recommend this B & B and would return if in the area.

Despite calling to book a reservation out of season (April), the owners were wonderful in accommodating 8 of us in four different rooms. I personally loved the location close to the water with a view of the sea caverns. My son has special diet needs and they were very accommodating with a terrific breakfast for everyone. The only reason I didn't give an excellent on cleanliness was because there was no toilet paper in the main bathroom the first time I went to use it. We would definitley stay again!

We will never forget our stay in St. Martin's, nor the hospitality we got at Salmon River. The owners were delightful and so friendly, sharing stories with us... the food was fantastic, and the town itself is absolutely beautiful - like something out of a movie set.

We also loved the B&B itself, a gorgeous old building renovated to stay in the still it was originally built. We can't recommend it highly enough.

We stayed for three nights at the Salmon River B&B in the Harmon Room. The B&B was very charming, and was situated directly on the Bay of Fundy. At low tide one can walk to St. Martins cove and the sea caves along the bay floor. Parking was ample.

We made one side trip to Saint John, and it only took about 40 minutes each way.

In addition to the Bay itself, the best part of the B&B are the hosts themselves: Mike and Barb. They are very knowledgeable about the area, take great pride in their inn, and are genuinely interested in knowing their guests and helping them have an enjoyable stay in the St. Martins area.

The rooms are not modern, but are well appointed and clean. There was a bureau in our room, but not a full closet; instead, there was a small rack for hanging a dozen or so items in one corner. There is not a great deal of floor space, but it is a reasonably sized room overall.

The restaurant is very picturesque. The breakfasts we had were very filling and delicious. There were a good many menu options to choose from.

Overall, we were very comfortable and well cared for at the Salmon River B&B. The hosts helped us get the very most out of St. Martins in the two days we had to explore.

Room Tip: Harmon room was quiet, and had a king-size bed. Bathroom was fairly large, with good shower, and nic...
