“Wow!!!”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

Loved the period architecture and beautifully maintained properties... Uniquely operated by both the Canadian and American governments, this is a great way to spend half a day exploring... Bring a picnic, there are plenty of beautiful spots to relax and make it a full day of it.

“A little US history in Canada”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Seeing all the original possessions of the Roosevelts, I thought they would walk in at any time. Tour staff were very informative & helpful.

“great island”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

Make sure you take in the "tea with Eleanor Roosevelt" presentation - the presentations were excellent, we could have listened to Debbie and Carolyn for hours - and the Hubbard Cottage tour.

“Don't Pass This By”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

If you take the time to go THIS Down East, don't pass this one by. In a floral, watery, green setting, the Roosevelt summer home is the centerpiece of this beautiful island. The tours are worth the time. Have tea with Eleanor. Then just walk around and sit on the docks.

And if you take the time to see the compound, take the time to drive around the island itself. Learn its history and get to know those who live and work there. They are wonderful people.

“Historic Treasure”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

A visit to the Roosevelt cottage on Campobello is an experience no American should miss, especially in light of the personal extravagance of today's politicians. The comfortable, but sparse rooms are meticulously maintained, as are the grounds. We were lucky enough to experience the free "Tea with Eleanor" where 2 very articulate and well informed guides shared stories about the First Lady while we enjoyed tea and cookies.
Highly recommend getting to the island by the small ferries which have lovely views.
The island's light house is one of the most photogenic I've ever seen, and getting to it at low tide is great fun.
