“A Stately Beacon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

If you come to visit Campobello, East Quoddy Head Light is a must. It is a beautiful sight to see. It is very difficult to climb down and up the many stairs and ladders but, if you are strong you should do just fine. Check the low tide times at the visitor station when you cross over. You should have more than adequate time to visit and get back. If you can't climb just park in the parking lot and walk down a short ways on the trail and you will get a 3/4 view. If you go late in the afternoon the sun gleams off of the tower and makes a spectacular picture.

“Gorgeous!”

Awesome trail near the lighthouse. Wish I could have spent more time here only had an hour but it was beautiful! Trail is steep so anyone with mobility issues would have to stick to the light house.

“Come At Low Tide !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

Come at low tide so you can cross at least to the middle island where there are great views of the lighthouse. You must traverse two sets of steep metal ladders that are in marginal condition where the salt water can work on them. If you misjudge your stay, be prepared to wait for 8 hours to get back. The tides here rise fast. Today I met the lighthouse painting crew leaving the island at 11 AM, work done for the day. They have to time there work day around the tides.

“East Quoddy Lighthouse”

the lighthouse is beautiful. . .but difficult to walk out to. There is a $5 pp fee to be allowed on the path out to the lighthouse which is fine, as it is used for upkeep. . .but the ladders/stairs were a little scary, and the rocks were a bit jaggedy and big to climb over.

We made it over the first set of rocks, up the second ladder, across the sandbar which is exposed at low tide, but then chose not to climb over the second set of rocks to make it all the way out to the lighthouse.

I am sure it would be no problem for younger folks. . .we did get one beautiful pic of the lighthouse from the beach. . .

“Really terrific lighthouse”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2013

There are some amazing views here, and the views alone make this a not-to-be-missed stop. The lighthouse is excellent too, although the tides kept us from getting too close. Lots of great photo opportunities here and some incredible scenery.
